Meet Verheyden: General Manager Abigail Battle started her journey with Verheyden Funeral Home & Cremation Service in 2008 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University in 2011. After becoming licensed, she broadened her experience serving families in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and the Philadelphia area.

In 2018, she returned to Michigan to serve the community she loves most. In February 2026, Abigail stepped into the role of General Manager, where she now leads with the same compassion, professionalism, and steady presence families have come to trust.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find Abigail spending time with her dog and cats, taking on home improvement projects, or relaxing with friends and family.

We’re grateful for Abigail’s heart for service and her dedication to the families we serve every day.
