The year of the Wood Snake is coming to an end and the rest of the old layers are completing their final shed for 2025.

The 2026 year of the Fire Horse starts on 2/17 and is predicted to be a dynamic, fast-paced period of bold action, new beginnings, and significant change, driven by the fiery energy of independence and freedom, encouraging risk-taking, innovation, and challenging limitations across career, relationships, and personal growth, becoming a demanding year for transformation and self-expression for everyone.

The Fire Horse is a symbol of transformation that is believed to bring about major changes that break old patterns and inspire new growth.

🪘🎶 The Soul Sanctuary invites you to join us for our upcoming Journey of the Drums group sound experience offered through Grove City Parks and Recreation.

This offering combines a rhythmic sound experience with gentle, individualized energy-based techniques designed to support relaxation and overall well-being. Participants will experience the grounding rhythms of ceremonial and tribal drums. The steady, repetitive patterns are known to support relaxation, help calm the nervous system, and encourage a sense of presence and connection.

Our Journey of the Drums experience is designed to help participants step away from daily distractions and reconnect with the body through sound, rhythm, and guided awareness, creating space for balance and restoration.

Each Sound Journey includes:
🧘‍♀️ A guided meditation with a new theme each month
💆‍♀️ Gentle, hands-on energy work (optional)
🎶 Sound and vibrational techniques intended to support relaxation
💜 A calm, welcoming environment for rest and reflection

Our Sound Journey series is facilitated by a husband-and-wife team. Monika is a Reiki Master, certified Sound Healer, and practitioner of multiple energy-based modalities. Derek is Reiki Level 1 and Animal Reiki certified and is a lifelong musician with experience playing drums, singing bowls, guitar, and native-inspired wood flutes.

Allow yourself this time to rest, release, reset, recharge, and restore with a rhythmic journey through sound and soul. 🎶💕

Our Sound Journey series is hosted by a husband-and-wife duo, bringing balanced masculine and feminine energy into the space. Monika is a Reiki Master, certified Sound Healer, an Access Consciousness Practitioner, as well as a practitioner of various other energetic modalities. Derek is Reiki 1 and Animal Reiki certified and has been a natural musician most of his life. He has taught himself to play the electric guitar, drums, singing bowls, and native-inspired wood flutes.

Feelings aren’t problems to fix.
They’re messages to understand.
Most suffering comes from resisting emotions and not feeling them.

Try this instead:
Pause.
Breathe. Slow your body. Create space before reacting.

Name it.
Anger. Sadness. Fear. Envy.
What you name, you can observe.

Feel it.
Without judgment. Without rushing it away.
Emotions rise and fall when allowed.

Ask why.
What was triggered? What need or attachment was touched?
Awareness turns pain into insight.

Release.
Breathe, write, speak, sit.
Feelings are energy and they are meant to move.

Shift.
Gently redirect toward calm, kindness, or clarity.
Not as an escape but by choice.

Final truth:
Feelings are temporary guests.
They come to teach, not stay.

You don’t need to control your emotions.
You need to understand them and let them go.

TRAUMA SAYS: "I need to explain everything so they don't misunderstand me or get upset." HEALING SAYS: I will no longer explain myself out of fear.

How someone perceives my truth is a reflection of them. And if there's any misunderstanding, the RIGHT people will ask, not assume.

It's a shift in perspective, a paradigm change, a liberation from the chains of people-pleasing and approval-seeking.

It's recognizing that your worth isn't tied to someone else's understanding or validation. It's understanding that you don't owe anyone an explanation for your thoughts, feelings, or actions.

Healing says, "I trust myself, I trust my intentions, and I trust my boundaries." It says, "I will no longer justify, I will no longer defend, and I will no longer apologize for being me."

It's a declaration of freedom, a statement of self-love, and a testament to your growth. Keep shining your light, and let the right people ask, not assume.
