Animals/pets teach kids compassion. Farming teaches them invaluable lessons about death and dying and the circle of life. (And as a hospice nurse, I can tell you, we as a country need more of both of those things!)

Today we’re learning gentleness (and hopefully not death and dying) by caring for a sick goose. Wish us luck!
