There’s something incredibly special about pausing, together, to reflect on where we’ve been.
This year has held wins we’re proud of, challenges that stretched us, tough days that tested us, and incredible days that reminded us why we do this work. It’s Friday, and that’s a perfect reason to highlight our incredible staff.

Today we’d like to shine a light on Lindsay Newkirk, an Intake Specialist of ours at Forward Health ⭐

Lindsay is someone whose presence is felt the moment she steps into a room, and the type of person who brings light with her. There’s a reason she’s on the front lines, helping people take steps to change their lives in real time. She’ll go out of her way to make someone smile, she listens with her whole heart, and she genuinely pours herself into every person who walks through our doors. You can feel her compassion before she even says a word.

Lindsay recently told us that “being part of a team who believes in your potential builds a confidence in yourself”, and that she has found that with her department.

In her words, “we build each other to help rebuild others,” and that’s exactly the kind of energy she brings to our program every single day.

Lindsay lives by the belief that healing isn’t a straight line, but a journey worth taking. She reminds herself daily that growth comes from staying honest, staying open, and trusting that faith will carry her through the rest. That mindset shows up in the way she treats people, with patience, grace, and a deep understanding of what real change looks like.

She explained thar she takes pride in welcoming people into a space where they feel cared for, understood, and supported as they take their first steps toward recovery.

And because every great highlight needs one fun twist, most people don’t know that Lindsay is bilingual in Spanish and once lived in San Luis Potosí, Mexico for a year. How cool is that?!

Lindsay, thank you for showing up with purpose, compassion, and a grateful heart; it makes a difference here every single day.

In addition to the insurance providers we’ve been able to accept for years, Forward Health is grateful to announce that we can now accept true dual insurance plans that include both Medicare and Ohio Medicaid/Managed Care coverage.

This expansion allows us to serve even more individuals who need high-quality, compassionate continued care. 💛

Thank you to our Male PHP Technician Supervisor Case, for meeting our Outreach Director at Clinical Headquarters tonight with a whole squad of our residents to help unload a whole skid of donations !

It’s moments like this that remind us how incredible our team is. Forward Health is truly built on dedication, unity, and people who show up.. every single time.

Our residents are going to have a very nice surprise waiting for them in the kitchen tomorrow morning.

You know what time it is, Forward Health family!

Today we’d like to shine a spotlight on Linda Nichols, our Director of Housing 🌟

If you know Linda, you know she’s the kind of person who will always advocate for our clients as well as stand shoulder-to-shoulder with her team, no matter what. She’s fierce when it comes to doing what’s right, and funny without even trying (which somehow makes it better).

Linda came in swinging, in the best way.. and brought her big heart with her. In a recent conversation, she shared a belief that resonated with us:

“All you have to do is try to be a better person than you were yesterday. Don’t focus too far into your past.” We couldn’t agree more, Linda.

When asked about her favorite part of working at Forward Health; Linda said it’s the people, both clients and coworkers, who make it all worthwhile. She explained that her team has helped bring her out of her shell and reminded her why she loves this work so much. Plus, after years in a small town, she’s loving being back in the city,
. especially for the food options. Those alone are worth celebrating! (Same Linda, same)

We are proud of everything you’ve accomplished and grateful to have you leading with compassion and strength. We are excited to keep watching you grow and doing so together! Keep up the great work. 💙

Forward Health is CARF-accredited and Ohio Recovery Housing certified, offering both men’s and women’s residential housing with long-term substance use and mental health treatment.

Our team will go to any length to help an individual begin to rebuild their life, assisting with insurance, food assistance, clothing, hygiene, and other basic needs from the beginning, so you can focus on healing, and growing in life, and recovery.

The weather’s getting cold. We’re losing people, and it doesn’t have to be you. There is no “right time.” There is just time, and what we choose to do with it while we have support, and a chance.

Even if you don’t think you’re ready for treatment, that’s okay: come in, get warm, get stable, and take your first step toward people who care, people who are safe, and who may know a thing or two about what you’re carrying.

Let’s talk about where you’re going.

A heartfelt thank you to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, honorable Judge Jodi Thomas, and the phenomenal resource partners who brought Operation Bridge to our beloved community.

Real change begins when we choose compassion over condemnation - when we become a safe place for the individuals who feel broken, instead of another wall they find themselves crashing into. Healing happens not through a lens of punishment, but through a lens of understanding. Meeting people where they are, and reminding them they’re valuable. It comes from the hope that’s inevitably felt when we’re seen, supported, and given a way out.

And finally, a special thank you to our very own Lindsay Newkirk. We’re honored to have you, and proud of your journey, your intentional actions taken to help others, and your willingness to speak out on what’s important, in order to help save lives. We stand with you, and we’re glad you stand with us.

You know what time it is.

Today we’d like to shine a light on Will Warden, our Men’s Housing Supervisor at Forward Health! 👏

Will is alwayd willing to lend a hand to staff and clients alike. He lives by the words, “if it is meant to be then it’s up to me.”

He likes to remind us that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and with patience, hope, and hard work, everything will come together.

He told us that what he values most about working at Forward Health is the people. He talked about his gratitude for a compassionate, dedicated, team, one united like family, all sharing the same passion for helping others. He’s proud to know that the work we do makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve and contributes to building a better tomorrow. We feel the same way, Will.. absolutely! 💙

Fun fact.. if you didn’t know, Will informed us he is also an incredible cook 🍳 (yes, even if it’s just in the microwave 😂). So, Will, it sounds like you’ve just signed yourself up to make us lunch soon; we’ll be expecting it.
