CLSD provides 911 ALS ambulance service on the Sonoma/Mendocino coast and hosts CPR, First Aid, EMR & EMT training courses for our community.

Staff Spotlight! Meet EMT Chris Dilks, aka MamaDilks. She has been an EMT for 37 years, and joined CLSD 2 years ago... she is also a mother of 4, grandma of 2, foster mom to 13. She doesn't get much down time, but when she does she likes getting outdoors or some quiet time reading with her dogs.

This week, Our team had a great training session with our Medical Director, Dr. Bierbaum. We were joined by some local first responders. We convene every two months to examine interesting cases and reinforce our expertise.

Do you know what the difference between an EMT and a Paramedic is? In California, EMT training is a minimum 160 hours, and Paramedic training is a minimum of 1094 hours.

On the left is some of our EMT tools: AED, First Aid supplies, glucometer, pulse oximeter, basic airway adjuncts (and a bottle of oxygen hidden in the red bag!)

On the right is some of our Paramedic tools: Cardiac monitor, 20 medications, IV supplies, IO kit, intubation/breathing tubes...

This picture doesn't include everything our EMTs and Paramedics use, but is a good snapshot of the differences in what we can do... and why a ambulance crew of an EMT and Paramedic make a great team!

Staff Spotlight!.. Daniel has been an EMT with CLSD since 2018. When he’s not on duty, he’s usually chasing after his toddler through the redwoods, where he lives and is working toward the dream of building his own home with his family.

We had so much fun Trunk or Treating today! Medic 120 brought treats to Point Arena and Medic 124 was in Gualala. We loved all your costumes!
