Under the leadership and reputation of internationally renowned orthopaedic sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews, the Andrews Research & Education Foundation, Inc. 501(c)(3) brings together the highest level of sports medicine research and education from doctors, researchers and rehabilitation professionals. We passionately work on sports injury prevention, return to performance protocols, and effective repair and rehabilitation for amateur and professional athletes as well as America’s wounded warriors. Congratulations to our AREF physicians and research team on their recent original research article published in the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine. This study examines surgical repair techniques for biceps femoris injuries, contributing to improved understanding and clinical decision making in orthopedic sports medicine.

📢 New Publication Alert!
We’re proud to share a new publication from AREF researchers Dr. Brett Kindle and Dr. Robert Pagan-Rosado, our 2023–2024 Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellow.

Published in the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, their article:
“Sonographic Findings of Latissimus Dorsi and Teres Major Injuries in Overhead Athletes” — provides a detailed pictorial review of the sonographic features of these uncommon yet impactful injuries in overhead athletes.
