Methodist Senior Services is proud of its 50 year-old tradition of providing housing and services to older adults in Mississippi. It has one mission: to serve older adults in the spirit of Christian love. Our 900 plus employees and 1,600 volunteers make that mission their prime focus. Today, MSS serves more than 1,800 elders in our 12 independent living, assisted living, personal care and skilled nursing care retirement communities, with campuses that range from almost the Tennessee line to the Gulf of Mexico.

Coffee & Chat with Dave Is always a favorite time for our elders. Each Wednesday, MSS board member & Seashore volunteer Dave Vincent leads thoughtful discussion where our elders sip, socialize, and share thoughts on today’s headlines and yesterday’s history. We ❤️ to see our elders recognized in the local community! This morning, Rufus Smith, was honored with the Philanthropy Catalyst Award from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The award was presented to Rufus for leading with integrity, consistency and care in service to the Gulf Coast region. Rufus has been a longtime board member of the Community Foundation, has served on our local Seashore board and has been a vocal advocate for the work being done through Methodist Senior Services.

Congratulations Rufus! Your heart for your community is tremendous and this award is well-deserved!
