We appreciate the Long Beach Carnival Association for recognizing Buddy Ball as one of the local organizations they have supported, and for their ongoing efforts to give back to programs serving families along the coast.

As shared in the WLOX story, Buddy Ball is among the organizations that receive some of the Carnival Association’s largest annual donations, support that makes a real difference for our kids and families.

Their commitment to giving back to the community is something worth celebrating. Knowing that our players are part of that legacy of generosity means a great deal to all of us.

We canceled our last night of horseback riding back in November due to a horse virus. It was rescheduled for this Monday, January 26th. In case you did not get your notice, it has once again been canceled due to the winter weather. It will be rescheduled for a later date.

This is a growing non-profit for families with autistic family members in South Mississippi. They have a survey for you to provide input as they continue to grow and provide opportunities for families in our community.

🚨We’ve set a massive goal, and we need your help to reach it.

Caiden’s Corner is planning our next chapter, and we want input from the entire community.

You do not have to have attended one of our events. You do not have to have a child on the spectrum.

If you care about families, inclusion, and community support, your voice matters.

🎯 Our goal is 500 community surveys
🎁 We’ll be selecting several people to receive items from our Caiden’s Corner swag shop
⏱ Takes about 5 minutes

We recently hired a non-profit consultant to help us scale and grow, made possible through a grant from HII. We’re so grateful for that support, and we’re leaning all the way in to serve our community at the highest capacity. That starts with listening.

This survey helps guide the events we host, the support we offer, and how we show up moving forward. Every single response matters.

We’re incredibly grateful to Samantha Jordan, Roy Howard Community Journalism Center and WLOX-TV for sharing the heart behind Buddy Ball and the families who make it all possible. What started with Mike and Carolyn Smith Crawford 's mission has grown into something truly special for our Gulf Coast community. 💙⚾

What started as a father's effort to include his daughter in sports has become Buddy Sports, a growing Mississippi Gulf Coast nonprofit offering free, adaptive activities for people with special needs.

🎨 Tonight is our final canvas night with Twisted Canvas for this season of Mississippi Gulf Coast Buddy Sports.

What started as paint on a canvas became confidence, friendships, smiles, and moments these kids will carry with them far beyond the studio. Every brush stroke told a story of joy, patience, and belonging. ❤️

We were also celebrated Miss Marissa’s birthday, singing Happy Birthday together and filling the room with laughter and love. 🎶

We are incredibly grateful to Twisted Canvas and Miss Elizabeth Tyner for opening their doors and hearts to our Buddy athletes. This chapter may be closing, but the impact will keep showing up in so many beautiful ways.

Thank you for helping our kids create more than art. You helped create memories ❤️

Our Story

Buddy Ball is for youths and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that have the desire to play organized, non-competitive baseball. Each player is assigned a "Buddy" that assists with playing the game. In Buddy Ball, all players get to hit, play the field, score, and win.

We also have other recreational sports and leisure activities we provide: Kickball, Cheerleading, and Fishing.

We provide all of our activities at no cost to the players or families.
