Often when people start on the journey of healing mind, body and soul, they quickly become overwhelmed. Daily living has become a nightmare for many. Nothing seems simple anymore.
Before you begin healing you need to DECLUTTER!
Declutter your body, your mind, your soul and your surroundings. You need to clean out all the old crap that is weighing you down. That means get rid of toxins in the body, let go of all the mental garbage that you no longer need to hold on too, let go of actions and feelings that do not bring you joy and peace, and let go of all the material things that clutter your surroundings.
Start by creating 3 spaces (this works for mind, body, soul and surroundings).

2. donate
3. keep
For the mind: Trash all the bad memories. If you did something wrong, forgive yourself, file the lesson and move on. If someone else did you wrong, forgive them, file the lesson and move on. Focus on right now, this moment. Don't stress about the past, it already happened, you can't change it so put it in the trash, except for a couple valuable lessons and treasures for the heart, and then let the rest go. Future plans are fun but don't get too locked in because many things can redirect you. Focus mostly on the here and now. Focus on what makes you the happiest.
For the body: Look at yourself inside and out. Do you look healthy? Do you feel healthy? What is your diet like? What is your exercise like? What is your sleep like? I always say, "If you put garbage in your body than you will feel like garbage!". Are you eating healthy foods? Throw out the processed garbage and eat real foods. Are you moving your body enough. Get up and walk or march your feet up and down while sitting and do some arm circles. Are you breathing deeply? Are you bathing with toxic chemicals. You know your skin is your largest organ and absorbs into the body what you put on it. Throw out the sun screen and get out in the sun on good clear days. Are you sleeping soundly? Don't eat right before bed. Drink a warm cup of herbal tea or even plain water before bed. Practice deep breathing before bed.
For the soul: What makes you happy? If what your doing does not make you happy then you need to change what your are doing. Are your thoughts peaceful? Get rid of the clutter to find a peaceful place. Get rid of anger, jealousy, fear and learn to live in a place of love.
Your surroundings: Get rid of things from your house that do not serve you. There was a time when stuff was not so easy to come by, so people would hang on to everything. It is not like that now, so time to change the mindset and let stuff go! Get rid of people in your life that do not align with you. That does not mean throw them out but spend less of your time concerned of their needs. If their energy does not align with yours, they become energy vampires and will try to suck you dry. Not because they are mean or want to hurt you, they just have not found a good path yet. Sometimes leaving them behind encourages them to pick themselves up. Declutter your time. Stop wasting time on things that do not serve you. Spend more time doing things that bring you joy and peace of mind.
These things don't happen overnight but the more you work at them, the easier it gets and it doesn't take long to notice huge improvements.
Some parts are easier and go faster. Some parts take some hard work and dedication. The time will pass anyway so why not let it pass doing things for your own good verses giving up and living the last of your moments in a pit of garbage?
