Working out is amazing for your body and mind — but did you know your skin can take a hit too? 👩🏻‍⚕️ Warm, sweaty environments are perfect for bacteria and fungi to thrive in. Protect your skin with a few simple habits and keep glowing, inside and out! 👩🏻‍⚕️

Hit the slopes with sun safety in mind! ❄️☀️ Even on cold days, UV rays can damage your skin—so protecting it helps reduce your risk of skin cancer and prevent premature aging.

Layer up to prevent frostbite, and don’t forget the essentials: broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen, SPF lip balm, a helmet, and goggles.

Snow reflects the sun’s rays, and higher altitudes mean stronger UV exposure, so try to avoid peak UV hours (10 AM–2 PM) when possible.

When you’re off the slopes, add a wide-brimmed hat and UV-blocking sunglasses for extra protection. And be sure to clean your goggles and helmet daily with a wipe to help prevent skin irritation.

Stay sun safe—and enjoy the mountains! 👩🏻‍⚕️

As the weather gets cooler, your lips may need a little extra care. 👩🏻‍⚕️ Here are dermatologist-approved tips to help keep them healthy this season:

👄 Use a lip balm with SPF 30+ when spending time outdoors. Protecting your lips from the sun is important year-round, even in cooler weather.
👄 Apply lip balm in the morning and before going outside to help seal in moisture. Carry an extra one with you so it’s easy to reapply later.
👄 Choose gentle, ointment-based, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic lip products to help prevent irritation, especially if you have sensitive skin.
👄 Avoid irritating ingredients such as peppermint, cinnamon, lanolin, menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus.
👄 Support hydration by drinking plenty of water and using a humidifier at night as indoor air becomes drier.
👄 Avoid licking, biting, or picking at your lips, as these habits can worsen dryness and slow healing.
👄 When outdoors, cover your face with a scarf to help protect your lips from cold, dry air and wind.

Consistent, gentle care goes a long way. If dryness or irritation continues, your dermatologist can help keep your lips healthy and comfortable all season long. Ask your dermatologist which brands and ingredients may be best for your skin. 👩🏻‍⚕️

If you’re battling dry skin this winter, a few simple showering habits can make a big difference. 👩🏻‍⚕️
• Keep it short: Limit baths and showers to 5–10 minutes.
• Turn down the temp: Use warm water—hot water strips the skin of its natural oils.
• Go gentle: Choose mild, fragrance-free cleansers.
• Dry with care: Gently pat skin dry with a soft towel; don’t rub.
• Moisturize immediately: Apply moisturizer while skin is still damp to lock in moisture.
