As SNAP benefits continue to be delayed, the County and our Office of Food Security, in partnership with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, are working to ensure that our neighbors do not go hungry. Today, we served nearly 1,000 households at our Emergency Food Distribution at Overpeck County Park. Thank you to all our volunteers, as well as our staff, first responders, security, and Community Transportation team for helping today run safely and smoothly.

One Bergen County Plaza is lit up green all week in honor of Veterans Day! Drive down Hudson St. in Hackensack this week and see these green lights as a reminder of the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our nation.

In partnership with Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Bergen County and the Bergen County Office of Food Security will be hosting an emergency food distribution event on Thursday, November 6, at Overpeck County Park in Leonia, to assist SNAP recipient households and furloughed federal employees.

Distribution will begin approx. at 10AM. Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is strongly encouraged.

Distribution is Drive-Thru Only. Participants may enter Overpeck County Park at 40 Fort Lee Rd., Leonia, NJ, 07605.

To receive assistance, participants must provide:
- Physical proof of Bergen County residency
- A valid SNAP/NJ Families First Card or Federal Employee ID Card

Eligibility guidelines will be strictly enforced.

The County invites our Bergen County Veterans to join us for a Veteran's Day Luncheon at Soldier Hill Golf Course in celebration of Veteran's Day.

After tomorrow, you can still reserve your spot online by visiting GolfBergenCounty.com. Reservation ability may be limited after the early access period ends.

In honor of Veterans Day, Bergen County Veterans & Active Duty Military are welcome to come golf for FREE at any of our Bergen County golf courses from Monday, November 10, to Friday, November 14.

On behalf of County Executive Tedesco, please see the attached flyer and information below regarding free tee-times for veterans and active-duty service members in honor of Veterans Day.

This year as a way to allow more folks to take advantage of the opportunity, our golf office will allow Bergen County veterans and active-duty military to make an “early-access” reservation by calling the County’s Division of Golf in advance at 201-336-7259 from Monday, October 27th through Friday, October 31st, during normal business hours (8am – 3pm). By doing so, they will be able to book a tee-time before the online registration portal opens to all golfers for the week of November 10th.

Join the County, the Division of Senior Services, and Bergen County Dementia-Friendly on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, for a Memory Cafe, in partnership with The Kaleidoscope at Abundant Life Reformed Church.

Memory Cafe is a safe and comfortable space where people living with dementia and their care partners can socialize and learn about resources available to them in Bergen County. Join us for an evening of music, dinner, activities, and community.
