Just popping on social media to share some exciting updates!

I took the last 8 months off social media for several reasons and will continue to do so, but wanted to share a few things!

🪷 My family has moved! I’m now located in the beautiful farmland of the Hackettstown area in Warren County. My in-person pregnancy and postpartum support will be offered in Warren, Sussex, Hunterdon, Morris, and Passaic Counties.

🪷I am focusing my doula role in a more traditional and holistic capacity. I am currently servicing Our Birthing Center, The Birth Center of New Jersey, and home births with a midwife. I am no longer attending hospital births.

🪷The best part….I have created a new element to my services by offering text messaging and email support during your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Have questions or need resources? Don’t get overwhelmed with all the information Google has to offer. Reach out to an expert for support while navigating this time in your life! I wish I could go back and tell her.

I wish I could go back and tell her.
That sometimes she will smile because she’s happy...
But mostly, she will cry because it’s hard.
Those tears will roll down her face.
And often she won’t even know why.
They just keep on rolling anyway.

I wish I could go back and tell her.
That sometimes the nights will be effortless...
But mostly, they will be long and unrelenting.
She will worry and stress and look at the clock.
And question if she will EVER get a full nights sleep ever again.

I wish I could go back and tell her.
That sometimes leaving the house will be easy.
But mostly, it’ll be hard.
Rounding everyone up.
Putting on shoes.
Handing out snacks.
Dealing with tears.
Making sure everyone else is sorted.
Before even thinking about sorting herself.

I wish I could go back and tell her.
That sometimes she will feel like she’s getting it right.
But mostly, she will feel like she’s getting it wrong.
She will question every decision.
And her gut will feel like it’s deceiving her.
Time and time again.
And she will have feelings of soul crushing guilt, with no real explanation.

I wish I could go back and tell her.
That whilst it may be hard.
Whilst the nights may be long.
Whilst the tears may keep rolling.
Whilst the guilt may be crushing.

She WILL get through it.
She WILL start to make sense of it all.
And ultimately, she WILL come out of it stronger.

She just doesn’t realise that yet.

If you’re in the thick of it, and if you’re not feeling strong; then please let me tell you.
Your strength is there. ITS THERE.
I promise you that.

Keep on keeping on.
Keep on doing what you’re doing.

Because whilst you might feel like you’ve been stripped bare.
And the hard times might feel like they’re breaking you.
They’re not. They’re BUILDING YOU UP.
Each and every time.

YOUVE GOT THIS.

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Topping the charts at #1, my most popular post for all of 2020 is this invisible load of motherhood breastfeeding graphic!

Breastfeeding was hands down the hardest thing for me to adjust to as a new/first-time mom. ⁣

I can vividly remember the nurse telling me I had to wake my firstborn to feed him every 2 hours. Like, set an alarm to wake him and feed him. ⁣

I did this for weeks. And pumped in between. ⁣

My b***s got so engorged that nothing was coming out and I no idea how to fix it. ⁣

I had no idea what I was doing. ⁣

I lacked confidence. ⁣

I was a zombie. ⁣

I'm thankful for my midwives who took my calls and checked on me in my home. ⁣

The second time around was so much better! I knew what to do and knew how to read the cues for hunger and soothing. ⁣

And there was no way I or any nurse was waking that sleeping baby 😂😂😂⁣

Man, such a wild ride. ⁣

I see you mamas! ⁣

Whether you were able to breastfeed or not, the pressure and stress of making sure your babe is getting enough and is growing is a lot. ⁣

Whatever your choice, it is what was best for you and your family ❤️⁣

Breastfeeder Strength 💪🏻

This image of British ultrarunner Sophie Power breastfeeding her 3-month-old son, Cormac, was taken at a rest stop 16 hours into the 106-mile Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc - UTMB ❤

“Oh my god, I was in agony," she told Runner's World UK of this moment. "Cormac usually feeds every three hours, and it took me 16 to get to Courmayeur where he could first meet me, so I was hand expressing everywhere I could en route. I was so relieved he was hungry!”

Sophie took the race slow and steady and made subtle changes to the way she ran because she was breastfeeding.

"In a typical race I would get in and out of the aid stations as quickly as possible, but here I had to focus on keeping down enough food for me and for Cormac, and resting,” she said.

She completed the intense race through France, Italy and Switzerland in 43 hours and 33 minutes.💪🏻
