Is It All About the Nervous System?
What if it is not all about the nervous system?

The nervous system is nowhere without its fluid partners.
Balance and comfort require more than what the nervous system alone can offer.
When we endeavor to regulate or “balance” ourselves, what are we leaving out?

— Perhaps we have been exploring half a system rather than a unified system of communication. —

The nervous system does not float in space. It lives in an environment. It is wrapped, bathed, and sustained in fluids.
What role do those fluids play?

COMFORT IS FIRST. ❤ Then, if you can think, you can meditate. Really. Give yourself a head start on the meditative process. Begin by sitting comfortably.
Seated on a chair — comfortably cross legged — or kneeling.

Sit comfortably and give yourself a fighting chance! (Revised Feb. 2026)

Core strength matters. It supports our movement, protects our spine, and allows us to meet the physical demands of daily life. But the core is not only muscle.

The core includes the organs that live in the center of the body—along with their fascial wrappings, fluid systems, nerves, blood, and lymph. There are two kinds of strength here:
Muscular strength
and
Organic strength

We’re made of emptiness and rhythm — yes.
And we’re also made of form.
In yoga, the forms that shape us are called the elements:
earth, water, fire, air, and space.

These aren’t abstract ideas. They describe how you’re built, how you feel, how you move, and how you meet life.

A guided practice sensing how earth, water, fire, air, and space shape experience

Embodying Yoga means sensorily, sensually, and spiritually inhabiting this life, this form, now.

Finding the space between stimulus and response — embodying the movement of impulses in the spinal cord.

You have more choice in how you perceive than you think have. And it matters how your body engages with, and absorbs what is being offered.

Our Story

Embodyoga® is a radical and inclusive approach to the ancient science of yoga. It is an evolving tapestry woven from the deeply healing, therapeutic, and spiritual essence of yoga and cutting edge studies in the field of body-mind-consciousness. Embodyoga® fuses the emergent wisdom of Body-Mind Centering®, which was developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, with Hatha Yoga practices and Ta***ic Yoga philosophy.

Embodyoga® begins with the premise that our entire personal self—body, heart, and mind — is a sea of vibrating creative awareness. We recognize that each aspect of our physical, and energetic form is an expression of awareness manifesting through, and as, individual qualities and traits. We experience these aspects of self as gradations of awareness, all made of the same stuff, all having equal value and importance, and all interwoven to form a system that is perfectly equipped and primed for self- realization. In other words, through the gift of human consciousness we are able to witness our very nature as it is: creative, bright, alive, and self-aware.

When we practice Embodyoga®, we harness the powerful forces of curiosity and desire to guide our exploration of the body-mind system. Our inquiry initiates and leads the journey. Whatever route this inward journey takes, it leads to the revelation of the unity that underlies all form. Even as we are obviously individuals with our personal qualities and traits, we are also universal in that all that we are is awareness at its source.
