We agree with the FDA’s decision to remove the boxed warning on low-dose vaginal estrogen therapies used to treat genitourinary symptoms associated with menopause. The boxed warning may have been a deterrent to the use of the low-dose vaginal estrogen, which is a safe and effective therapy for a condition that affects most menopausal women. Systemic estrogen still comes with potential risks in certain individuals that should be reviewed in detail with women initiating therapy. As stated in The Menopause Society’s hormone therapy position statement, the risks are low for younger, healthy women initiating hormone therapy closer to the menopause transition. Risks are greater when initiated in older women and in those who are further from menopause onset. Medical comorbidities, personal and family histories, symptoms, and personal preferences all need to be reviewed with patients considering the use of hormone therapy for management of menopause symptoms or prevention of bone loss.

Our Hagerstown office is thrilled to participate in the 32nd Annual Community Free Clinic Potter’s Bowl as part of the server competition! This year, our Capital Women’s Care “Delivery Squad” will be trading our scrubs for aprons to help raise funds for free medical care for uninsured residents of Washington County.
Guests (and supporters like you!) can “tip” their favorite server team — every dollar goes directly to the Community Free Clinic. Help us reach our goal and bring home the title of Champion Servers of Potter’s Bowl 2025!

💗🩵October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month 💗🩵

This month, we honor the tiny lives that left us too soon and the families who carry their memory in their hearts every day.

At Capital Women’s Care , we see you, we grieve with you, and we stand beside you. No one should walk this path alone — please know that support, compassion, and understanding are always here for you.

🕯️ Tonight, October 15th, we join families around the world in lighting a candle at 7 PM for the Wave of Light. Remembering every baby gone too soon but never forgotten.
