This past Saturday, our team led a strategic planning session for Regrounding Our Response Appalachia, emphasizing messaging, expansion, and sustainability. With input from subject matter experts, we crafted a detailed plan and outlined a final module. We thank the Washington County Health Department for their generous hosting and NASTAD for supporting our lead expert.

❄ As cold weather settles in, the Washington County Office of Emergency Management wants to share an important resource for our community.

The Homeless Coalition Street Guide provides information on warming locations, shelters, food resources, and other critical services available in Washington County. It’s a helpful tool for anyone who may need assistance—or who may encounter someone in need during these cold temperatures.

Checking on neighbors and knowing where help is available can make a real difference.

Human Trafficking Awareness Month is observed annually in January in the United States to educate the public and raise awareness about human trafficking. The month includes "National Human Trafficking Awareness Day" on January 11th and is often highlighted by wearing blue, the color associated with human trafficking awareness efforts by Homeland Security. The goal is to increase public understanding of this crime and how to prevent and combat it.
