Sadly, we just had a patient walk out of our office because we politely asked him to wear a facemask in our dental office. Here's the policy, set by the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners, the governing body for the dental profession in the state of Maryland. If your dental office does NOT require you to wear a facemask while in the office, then they are NOT following the rules. Thanks for understanding!

Regarding COVID-19 Protocols

On May 18, 2021, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC) came out with the following:

Although there has been a relaxation of many COVID-19 restrictions; there have been no changes in healthcare settings inclusive of dentistry. CDC Guidelines regarding managing COVID-19 in the dental office remain in effect inclusive of enhanced respiratory protection, screening of patients & staff, use of facemasks for everyone in the facility and social distancing. It is the dentist’s responsibility to comply with the CDC Guidelines."

Due to a local power outage, Gilbart Dental Care of Hagerstown will be closed today, Tuesday, May 4, 2021. However, our other 2 dental offices (Gilbart Dental Care of Frederick and Felicity Dental Frederick) ARE open today, so it's business as usual in those 2 offices! Hopefully, Potomac Edison can fix this soon. We anticipate business as usual tomorrow. Have a great day!

Given the latest COVID-19 recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control, the Maryland Dept. of Health and Governor Larry Hogan, we have reluctantly decided to close our dental office until further notice for any elective and non-urgent dental procedures and appointments. If you are a patient of record at Gilbart Dental Care of Hagerstown, then Dr. Jonathan Gilbart is available on a case-by-case basis to perform dental procedures that are critically necessary for the maintenance of a patient's health.
