What is a Doula? A Doula is a non-medical, trained professional who supports women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. A doula brings added emotional support, helps provide you with information to make informed decisions and can assist with physical comfort measures. A doula's priority is to serve the family, helping them navigate the many options available, so that they can determine the best choices for the mother, her labor, and their family. With over 10 years of working with families, I have a wide variety of birth experiences. I bring reliable care to women and their families through emotional, informational, and physical support. I have a great fascination with and knowledge in pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care which ignites my desire to help women know what options they have and help you make the best decision for your family. I quickly adapt to situations which helps me respond and support you as you need in each moment. Jennifer is certified for birth, postpartum and bereavement doula. VBAC specialist
I've worked for 15 years and done at least that many VBACs with families without a certification, but women are feeling more comfortable with a certified training, so I'm excited to add this asset to the team!
I'll be releasing a packet JUST FOR DOULAS!
I know how hard it was just starting out in the doula business, so I'm preparing to help you get a faster start where the business pieces are already laid out for you. Installment 1 will include how to walk through an interview, two prenatal meetings and 1 postpartum visit.

I want you to feel informed, confident, and supported. I have some classes that help women and their families do just that!
BIRTH OPTIONS -
We talk through all the birth options you have available to you and walk through some "what if" situations to help you make informed decisions in each moment of your labor/birth. You'll have a birth plan by the end of class.
STAGES OF LABOR -
What to expect at each stage and how you might respond in labor/birth
NEWBORN CARE -
Diapers? Outfits? Baby carriers? Someone said to hold the head? We'll cover it all and you'll be pro the first time you meet your baby
COMFORT MEASURES -
Dress Rehearsal for labor and birth. This is a hands-on moving class. We practice breathing and positions together to help you get through labor/birth as comfortable as possible.

Let me share a few fun facts:
I've been a doula for 15 years now and I absolutely love the moments I get to be part of to support women and their families.
In my free (non-doula work) time, I am homeschooling my two kids, serving in children's ministry at my church, helping teach at my homeschool co-op, and regularly hanging/talking with my favorite people in person and on the phone.
I absolutely love being an Auntie 🥰 (I have 8 nieces & 10 nephews) Oh, yeah - both my husband and I come from BIG families 🙌 I am the oldest of 10 & he's the oldest of 9 🎉
I enjoy reading 📚 - I'm going to break a record this year with my list. I usually only read ONE novel every year 🤯 - I know! BUT.... I've already read 2 this year and I'm working through 2 more right now - RECORD BREAKING!! 99% of them have to be physically in my hands.
I'm VERY comfortable in a hospital 🏥 and I love supporting families in ANY birth space, but helping families feel comfortable in a hospital setting is probably my favorite.
At the end of the day I want to help you to feel informed, confident, & supported 💪while making decisions that best fit YOUR family.

Did you name your little one/s?
I chose the name Halley, because Halley's comet comes about once every 76 years, so it's like to be only a once in a lifetime experience for someone, and they will never have that same view of the comet ☄️ again.
This baby was a once in a lifetime for us. No other baby will be like this one was.
