💙 Supporting Your Recovery, Your Way 💙
At our clinic, we understand that every recovery journey is unique. That’s why we proudly offer both Methadone and Suboxone as part of our comprehensive medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program.
🔹 What’s the difference?
Methadone is a full opioid agonist, meaning it works by fully activating opioid receptors in a controlled way to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It’s typically taken daily at a clinic and has been used safely and effectively for decades.
Suboxone (a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone) is a partial opioid agonist. It helps ease withdrawal and cravings without producing the same level of effects as full opioids. It can often be prescribed for at-home use, offering more flexibility for some patients.
🔹 Common Misconceptions
❌ “You’re just replacing one addiction with another.”
✔️ In reality, these medications are carefully prescribed and monitored to stabilize brain chemistry, reduce harm, and support long-term recovery.
❌ “You’re not really sober if you’re on MAT.”
✔️ Recovery looks different for everyone. Using medication as prescribed is a medically supported, evidence-based path to recovery.
❌ “Methadone and Suboxone are the same.”
✔️ While both treat opioid use disorder, they work differently and may be better suited to different individuals depending on their needs.
