What would you share with someone in that situation?

Yes! You absolutely can get back on track after a difficult beginning. It’s easy to feel like you’ve missed your chance when things don’t go smoothly at first, but the reality is that many breastfeeding journeys start with challenges and still go on to be very successful.

The early days are a learning period for both you and your baby. With time, support, and a few adjustments, things can improve significantly. Reaching out for help, spending time skin-to-skin, practicing frequent feeding, and giving yourself patience can all make a big difference.

One common food myth that persists is the belief that those that are nursing should avoid chocolate. Some people think that the stimulant compounds in cocoa, caffeine and theobromine, might make babies fussy. However, when consumed in moderate amounts, these substances are unlikely to affect a baby’s behavior.

No, while chocolate does contain theobromine and caffeine, the amount is usually small and even less passes into your milk." The La Leche League USA logo is below the text.

It’s kind of wild when you think about it breastfeeding is basically nature’s version of Wi-Fi. 📶 Your baby latches on and instantly sends your body a “data upload” through their saliva info about germs, growth needs, and what’s going on in their tiny world. Your body reads the signal and “downloads” a custom milk update packed with the exact antibodies and nutrients your baby needs right now. No lag, no buffering just instant biological connection. Call it Milk-Fi, where love is the signal and antibodies are the bandwidth. 💧🤱✨

When I’m 80…
this is where I’ll go in my dreams.

Back to the babies.
Back to the weight of them on my chest,
their tiny fingers gripping mine.

Back to midnight feedings,
rocking chairs, and lullabies whispered in the dark.

Back to the smell of baby lotion,
the sound of soft giggles,
the way their eyelashes brushed their cheeks when they slept.

Back to the days that felt endless,
and the nights that felt even longer.
Back to the moments I didn’t realize
would one day be the ones I’d ache to relive.

When I’m 80,
I won’t dream of vacations or milestones.
I’ll dream of this.
Of them.
My babies.
My whole heart in tiny form.
