We would like to remind you to contact our office if you have not received your Explanation of Benefits statement from your insurance provider, including Medicare and Medicaid. This statement should be received quarterly and will detail claims processed by your insurance company, including payments made to HP Medical and Surgical Supply, Inc. or HP Medical and Surgical S. The statement will provide details on the number of claims submitted, approved, and the coinsurance amount due. Please contact our office if you have not received your EOB statement quarterly or at the beginning of your service. Despite the IT billing challenges that arose during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in 2010, which caused significant disruptions to many DME companies, we remain committed to our mission of assisting our patients in breathing better and improving their quality of life. I have been noticing lots of sniffles and sneezing and coughing and wheezing!!

As we enter the new season, it's essential to ensure your nebulizer is working correctly, delivering a fine mist. If your treatments are taking longer than usual (8-10 minutes), you may need to replace your nebulizer cup or the machine itself. Please inspect your machine's cleanliness, including filters, to maintain infection control and good respiratory hygiene. For guidance on breathing treatments and infection control, consult your manual or visit our website. Don't forget to stock up on white vinegar for disinfection purposes. We would like to extend our gratitude to all patients of HP Medical and Surgical Supply Inc., operating under the trademark name O2 Solutions. To clarify the discrepancy in company names displayed on Explanation of Benefits statements, we have been reaching out to our patients for confirmation. Patients with insurance coverage should receive these statements at least quarterly from Medicare. Despite contacting politicians, we have not received a satisfactory explanation. We reiterate our inquiry to patients regarding the company name listed on their Explanation of Benefits, as those with insurance coverage should receive these statements quarterly from Medicare.
Unfortunately, the displayed company name, HP Medical and Surgical S, does not match our registered tax ID number or corporate records, which are listed under HP Medical and Surgical Supply Inc. This inconsistency has resulted in claim rejections, appeals, takebacks, and underpayments at both government and state levels. Furthermore, it raises concerns about the potential misallocation of funds, which could include tax dollars. Patients may have experienced improper government / HMO billing, leading to rejected claims and co-pay errors.
As a reminder, Medicare patients should receive an Explanation of Benefits on a quarterly basis, yet many of our patients report never having received one!!
