Today we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day at Show-Me Community Services! Leadership made rounds delivering Hot Box Cookies and Dirty Sodas to staff working today as a small thank you for the incredible care, patience, and dedication they show every single day.

Our team lives out our S.T.A.R. values — Service, Teamwork, Acceptance, and Respect — and we are grateful for each and every one of them.

CELEBRATING LEADERSHIP & GROWTH AT SMCS

Staff STAR Player – Zoey Johnson
Zoey demonstrated incredible calm and professionalism during a challenging behavioral situation. She de-escalated with confidence, maintained dignity and respect, and supported others throughout.
This is leadership in action.

Client STAR Player – Jacob Rohr
Jacob has shown meaningful growth in communication and emotional regulation. He remained calm in difficult moments and demonstrated empathy and kindness toward peers.
Growth takes effort and Jacob is putting in the work.

Rookie STAR Player – Alexis McCann
Alexis has quickly made a positive impact on her team. She consistently steps in to help and brings a steady, dependable presence to her role.
Teamwork isn’t loud it’s consistent.

👏 And a special congratulations to our Quarter 4 Leadership MVP – Christopher Shelby, Home Supervisor.

Chris exemplifies high fidelity Tiered Supports implementation, models emotional regulation, supports his team hands on, and reinforces strong documentation and coaching practices daily.

She supports multiple homes, keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, and pays close attention to the details that truly matter. From organization and documentation to skill-building and meaningful activities, Bethany helps ensure consistency and care every day.

STAR Player – Miranda
Miranda is being recognized for her kindness, respect, and ability to make others feel welcome and valued. She consistently supports her housemates and staff, respects personal boundaries, and continues to grow in her communication skills. Miranda’s positive presence and caring nature make a meaningful impact on those around her every day.

Rookie of the Month – Ashley Miller
Ashley has made a strong first impression with her positive attitude, willingness to help, and ability to build trusting, meaningful relationships with the clients she supports. She jumped right in, embraced the role, and continues to be a wonderful addition to the SMCS team.

This season is about connection, gratitude, and giving back.
As an agency, we had the opportunity to drop off holiday goodies to some of our local heroes including the Fire Department, City Hall, and Police Department to say thank you for all they do for our community year round.

We are grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another, especially during the holidays.

Halloween Fun at Show-Me Community Services!
Our Day Program had an absolutely spooktacular day thanks to our amazing Day Program Director, Tim Grannemann, who put together an unforgettable Halloween Party! From a delicious taco bar to festive activities, laughter, and friendship, it was everything we love about being together.

Our clients and staff brought their creativity to life with costume contests for Funniest, Most Original, and Best Overall, plus a friendly competition to see who could collect the most monsters 👾 and wow, did everyone bring their A-game!

These moments remind us that when people come together with joy, inclusion, and purpose, every day becomes a celebration.
