Good Evening Hawk Nation!
Tonight we’re reaching out to all of you in Hawk Nation as we rally support for the Hoffert Family. Early this morning, the Hoffert Family lost everything in a fire at their home. Although everything is a total loss, all family members are safe.
Due to the nature of their current circumstances and with many unknowns, we’re rallying support to collect a few specific needs that will support the family at this time and until they can get temporary living arrangements squared away. Those items are listed below. Drop-off/collection will take place tomorrow evening, Tuesday March 31st and Thursday evening, April 2nd at the Shoemakersville Park pavilion, between the hours of 5:30-7:00pm.
1. Monetary & gift card donations. (Gift cards for locations such as Redner’s, Target, Walmart) Please make all checks payable to “Matt Hoffert”. Donations can be addressed to Shoemakersville Baseball, 1187 Main St, Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
2. For those that would like to donate via Venmo, the Shoemakersville Baseball Association is collecting donations via their Venmo account. There is no fee withheld and 100% of the funds go directly to the family. Venmo account pictured in the comments below.
3. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1TIG0LV678H6N?ref_=wl_share (List is in it’s infant stages, this is simply a wishlist as the family turns to rebuilding.)
4. Clothing. Clothing donations are on hold for now as time is being taken to sort what has already been received. Please do not bring any clothing donations to the drop off location this evening or Thursday. Once the donations received are sorted, another update will follow with additional clothing needs.
5. AYCE Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, April 11th, 8am-11am. Breakfast will be held at First Reformed UCC Church, 76 S. 3rd St, Hamburg, PA 19526. $10per person. There will be raffle baskets available at the event and baskets are being accepted.
As additional needs present themselves, we will share at that time. Until then, if you have any of the above items and would like to assist the family, please be sure to visit the drop-off location on Tuesday or Thursday evening. Please keep the Hoffert family in your thoughts and thank you to the first responders who responded today to assist in extinguishing the fire.
