Three Years of Growth and Impact

In 2023, I took a leap of faith and turned a volunteer opportunity into something much bigger than I ever imagined. What started as a simple “why not?” has grown into a journey I am incredibly proud of.

In 2023, I taught 67 students and laid the foundation for You Can Be Prepared.

In 2024, my first full year in business, I taught 525 students, expanding my reach and refining my mission to provide high-quality lifesaving education.

In 2025, I continued to grow both professionally and personally. I completed an EMT program and proudly earned my National Registry EMT (NREMT) certification as well as my State of Connecticut EMT certification. I taught 702 students this year alone.

Beyond the classroom, I have been actively involved as a First Responder on an ambulance and as an Event EMT, saving lives in both the classroom and the community. Real-world emergency response has strengthened my skills and made me an even better instructor.

In 2025, I also joined the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce, strengthening my connection to the local business community and expanding opportunities to bring lifesaving training to more workplaces and organizations.

Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of teaching a total of 1,294 students — 1,294 people now better prepared to respond in an emergency.

I would especially like to thank Ken, and my kids, Travis and Ida, for their unwavering support, encouragement, and understanding as I continue to grow both personally and professionally.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, trusted me with their training, referred a friend, or encouraged me along the way. I am incredibly grateful for this journey and excited for what’s ahead.

More adventures in teaching. Last week I went to a building that had the coolest atrium. Trees and a koi pond. If I had a desk job and worked there daily, I think my co-workers would frequently find me hanging out there with my laptop.

Also, this week, some students were having fun with my limbs and just had to high five each other for a job well done. I love it when my students are enjoying my classes and walk away with a big smile.

This week I have taught all over the state, from the views of New Haven, to teaching at the Red Cross facility where it’s like a mini museum. The fun thing about my job is I never know where I will be next and what I might discover.

Need to get certified in First Aid/CPR/AED. Contact me to set up a class. I can come your place of business, community center, etc. I would love to discover your little slice of Connecticut.

Well it happened to me. I heard it happening to other instructors, but it finally happened in my class. LoL 😂

A student accidentally called 911. She said the words “Siri, call 911” and whoops 😳 it did. LoL 😂 911 called her back and she had to explain she was taking a CPR class. So if you are wondering if asking Siri to call would work, it does. LoL 😂
