While we love New Year’s resolutions, we also love helping you achieve goals with realistic, consistent steps.

These are our favorite ways to get started anytime of the year:

1. Get Strong AF - our PTs are big fans of strength training and can help you find the right exercises that will actually make a difference this time.
2. Don’t Forget to Breathe - use your breath in times of stress but also during movement, it can really offload those painful or symptomatic areas of your body.
3. Take Movement Breaks - we all get stuck sitting longer than desired these days, but taking a quick 2-5 minute break every hour our so makes a big impact.
4. Manage Stressors - Stress will always be there, but the strategies you have to manage them keep your body from being in constant overdrive.
5. Hydrate, Hydrate! - keep a water bottle (and electrolytes) handy. You’ll thank us later.
6. Book that PFPT appt - Our team can help you simplify all of this even further and finally unpack WHY your symptoms are going on, and HOW to change them for the long run.

Our pelvic floor team was busy nerding out this week to keep providing the best care for our patients. The focus this time..prolapse and bladder leakage.

We dove deep into learning how we can better diagnose and explain prolapse to our patients. We played with all the different ways our body affects demand on the pelvic floor (like posture, impact levels, core control, hip strength) and where we can narrow that down to the patient in front of us so that feelings of pressure, bulging, and leakage don’t get in the way of doing the things you love.

Prolapse is often misunderstood and scary. Bladder leakage is often put off as normal or treated until it’s “good enough”. We make it our job to listen to your concerns and guide you forward in the best way possible.

There are a few things that you can try to help to manage the pain:

🟢 c shaped cushion
🟢 cat/cow stretch
🟢 child’s pose with feet out
🟢 pelvic tilts

The good news is you don’t have to be in pain! Our PTs can help to identify the cause of your pain and using the tools above along with other techniques we can help you return to activities without pain!
