Does your body ever feel like it's bracing for impact — even when nothing is actually wrong?

That's not anxiety. That's not weakness. That's a nervous system doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The problem is it was designed for a world with actual physical threats...like bears! Not the world we live in today.

Positive isn't enough to fix it. 🌿 I tried to affurmation my way out of hypervigilence for years.

Then i learned about tapping and other tools that I use regularly for my own well being, and in service to my clients.

Save this if it resonates. And if you're ready to do the deeper work, let's chat!

Do you have a hard time accepting compliments?
I was dropping off a marriage license this morning and it reminded me of the first wedding I ever officiated.
Do you know what I remembered about that day for years?
Not how beautiful it was.
Not how happy everyone was.
I remembered the mistake I made on the license. 🤦‍♀️

One small, common error , and that's all my brain held onto.

When I looked at my life honestly, I realized this was a pattern. Feedback would come in mostly positive, but there were always opportunities to improve , and I would only hear what I perceived as negative...the thing I didn't do or could have done better.

The rest just... disappeared.

Here's what I've learned since then:
That's not a character flaw. That's our brain doing exactly what it's been trained to do.

When our self-concept isn't fully positive, when we don't feel truly worthy, our brain automatically:
🔹 Deletes the wins
🔹 Distorts the compliments
🔹 Generalizes every mistake

All to match the story it already believes about us.
And here's the thing --- that story isn't true. It never was.
There is nothing wrong with you. This is simply how our brains work. And when we understand why it happens, we can finally begin to change it.

✨ If you're ready to go deeper with this work, I'd love for you to join me on April 11th for the Step Into Your Power retreat in Farmington, CT.
We'll spend the day in community, creativity, and reflection - reconnecting with who you truly are beneath the old stories.
🔗 DM me to reserve your spot.

Save this post if it resonated — and share it with someone who needs to hear it today. 💛

There are days when I just feel off. Sometimes I procrastinate. Even simple decisions. Or I find myself over-analyzing everything.

Sound familiar?

Here's what I've learned . Most of the time, that foggy, disconnected feeling can be helped with a simple grounding practice. It's the first place I go when I am feeling off and distant.

Grounding reconnects you to earth energy , and it's simpler than you might think. Standing barefoot outside, hugging a tree, being among nature, or even a short visualization or meditation if you can't get outdoors.

The result? Your stress reduces. You feel a sense of calm. You may feel more connected, in balance.

Weather's finally turning (yay!) this week might be a good time to try it.

What's your go-to when you're feeling off? I'd love to hear!

There’s a space I found myself in recently…

Where nothing was really wrong-
but something wasn’t moving.

I kept thinking I needed a better plan.
More structure.
More discipline.

And I could feel that familiar pull to push harder…
to figure it out…
to make something happen.

But this time, I didn’t.

Instead, I paused.

And I chose something different.

I got curious.

Not “How do I fix this?”
But… “What’s actually going on underneath this?”

Because if I’m honest, it didn’t feel like a strategy problem.

It felt like something quieter.
Something just beneath the surface.

And the moment I stopped trying to force my way forward…
I could feel a shift.

Not clarity yet.
Not answers.

But space.

And that space was enough to begin.

(What came next surprised me… I’ll share more soon.)

For now, I’m curious...

What might change if you stopped pushing…
and allowed yourself to get curious instead?

Ever notice how a car wash works?
You pull in, put the car in neutral, and allow the system to do the work.
Our minds sometimes work the same way. When we slow down and quiet the constant thinking, deeper patterns can begin to shift.
What might your mind be ready to wash away??

Have you ever realized that understanding something doesn’t automatically create change?

There have been many moments in my life when I could clearly articulate what needed to shift… and yet I felt like I was pushing against an invisible wall.

For me, that’s shown up in becoming more visible online and in networking spaces.
It’s shown up in committing to healthier habits.

Logically? I knew what to do.

But knowing isn’t the same as being internally aligned.

I tried willpower.
I tried affirmations.
I created detailed plans and strategies.

And here’s what I’ve come to understand:

Behavior lives on the surface.
Patterns live underneath.

If a part of you associates visibility with judgment…
or success with pressure…
or health with restriction…

Your system will subtly steer you back toward what feels familiar even if familiar isn’t what you consciously want.

It’s not a lack of discipline.

It’s an identity-level pattern running quietly in the background.

Real change begins when we gently update the internal story: the images, meanings, and emotional imprints that shape how we see ourselves.

So I’m curious…

What’s something you fully understand at a logical level…
yet still find yourself looping around?

And what might be happening beneath the surface?

Love isn’t always a feeling.

Sometimes love is a practice.

When the world feels heavy, divided, or uncertain, it’s easy to close off. To harden. To disconnect.

But love can also look like this:
Staying present.
Softening your breath.
Choosing not to react immediately.
Meeting yourself with kindness instead of criticism.

Meditation is one way we practice love : not as perfection, but as steadiness. As humanity. As a quiet return to what matters.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or simply tired, this is your invitation to begin again.
