A big thank you to The Little Petting Zoo for stopping by Whitney Center and bringing so many cute animals across our entire community! From Meadow Mills Assisted Living & Memory Care to the Health Center and even in our Arts Center, it was a fun visit for everyone. Whether it was a resident or a staff member, nobody could resist meeting a new furry or feathered friend. We look forward to having them come back soon! 🐐🐥🙌

Huge congratulations to Alesha Pouncey for receiving the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Warrior Award! 👏

As a CNA and dedicated member of our night shift nursing team at Meadow Mills Assisted Living & Memory Care, Alesha embodies the compassion, excellence, and "above and beyond" spirit that makes Whitney Center so special.

From setting beautiful breakfast tables for our residents to the consistent praise she receives from her fellow team members, Alesha is a true light in our community. While she never seeks the spotlight, her dedication to providing stellar care every single day makes her a hero in our eyes.

In addition, shoutout to our other amazing nominees for the award, Shavon and Monica, for their hard work and heart! We are so lucky to have "warriors" like you on our team. 🙌💙

Still thinking about how much fun we had at our Spring Fling! 🎡

A massive thank you to Meadow Mills Assisted Living & Memory Care for hosting, and the 100+ residents, families, and staff members who made our day so special. It was wonderful seeing the kids enjoying The Little Petting Zoo and face painting while the Band-Ecklectics filled the air with music. 🎶

There were so many things to do between carnival games such as axe throwing, ring toss, and balloon darts. We also had delicious made-to-order donuts, hotdogs, hamburgers and sweet treats like cupcakes. It was a day of smiles from start to finish. 😊

Whitney Center was proud to host LeadingAge Connecticut & Rhode Island for their Annual Leadership Academy Breakfast and April meeting! ☕️

It was a wonderful morning spent with Board Members and Leadership Academy Participants. A true highlight was hearing Anne Matist of Whitney Center, as well as fellow participants who shared their inspiring experiences in the program.

At Whitney Center , we believe in supporting the whole journey of life—celebrating its beauty while honoring the tender moments of loss. Our monthly Grief Support Gathering offers a safe, welcoming space to share, reflect, and connect with others.

✨ Meetings are held the first Friday of every month and are facilitated by our Well-Being Coordinator. Together, we embrace conversation about life, love, and even death—with compassion and care.

Because no one should walk the path of grief alone. 🌿
