This month's resident spotlight is Phyllis Silverman! Phyllis was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, she began a remarkable 42‑year career as a Medical Technologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where her precision, compassion, and dedication touched countless lives. Her life’s sweetest chapter began the night she met her husband Gary Silverman at a club in Long Island. Together, they welcomed two children, Marc and Jodi, and later a beloved grandson, Leo, whose musical gifts have even brightened the days of residents at Azalea. The moment she visited Azalea at Hamilton, she felt a sense of comfort and belonging. Phyllis is full of delightful surprises, including her talent for cake decorating. She has crafted countless beautiful cakes for family and friends. She also loves dancing, reading, and especially playing Mahjong with her dear friends at Azalea, where her presence brings warmth to every gathering. Those who know Phyllis speak of her gentle spirit, thoughtful nature, and the kindness she offers so naturally. Her story is one of love, dedication, and grace, and her presence remains a gift to all who know her.
