🍀 HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!🍀

Feeling lucky this week? We are!

Because every sound, word, and sentence your child learns is a little bit of magic. ✨

This St. Patrick’s week, try this simple speech activity at home:

☘️ Lucky Word Hunt

Hide a few green items or shamrocks around the house.

Each time your child finds one, have them:

• Say a target sound (like S, R, or L)

• Name the item they found

• Use it in a short sentence

Example:

“I found a green shamrock!”

Speech practice + play = the real pot of gold. 🌈

That means we SPRING FORWARD one hour!

Yes… the clocks.

No… not your child’s speech session. 😉

So before you head to bed Saturday night:

🌼 Change those clocks

🌼 Double check your alarms

🌼 Bribe yourself with extra coffee

Who is ready for a beautiful weekend? ☀
How about a fun speech activity to keep busy? If it's beautiful in your area, move it outside and enjoy a SOUND HUNT and some fresh air!

✨ Silly Sound Safari! 🦁🐍🐘

Pick a sound your child is working on (like /S/, /R/, or /B/) and go on a “safari” around your house to find 5 things that start with that sound.

🐍 /S/ – sock, soap, spoon

🐻 /B/ – book, ball, bed

🚗 /R/ – remote, rug, refrigerator

Have your child say each word 5 times using their best speech sound.

Bonus points for using a silly voice or animal roar after each word! 🦁

Speech practice doesn’t have to be boring — it can be LOUD, silly, and full of giggles.

Parents, you are your child’s favorite teacher. 💛

Just 5 minutes makes a difference!

Rainy days are PERFECT for building speech and language skills at home!

Try this easy “Rainy Day Talk” game:

☔ I Spy – Rain Edition

“I spy something that is WET!”

“I spy something you wear in the rain!”

🌧️ Sound Hunt:

Practice /r/ words: rain, rainbow, red, raincoat

Practice /sh/ words: shower, shoes, splash

💬 Build a Sentence:

“The rain is ____.”

“I see a ____ in the puddle.”

👂 Bonus Tip:

Listen for rain sounds and describe them! Is it loud? Soft? Dripping? Splashing?

Rainy days = cozy days + extra talking time 💙
