Shout out 📣to Tammy Leigh, MSN, RN, Administrative Director, ED and ICU, and Jennifer Chaiken, MCN, CEN, NPD-BC, Professional Development Practitioner, Center for Professional Development, Innovation, and Research, for presenting a poster at the New Jersey Emergency Nurses Association 47th Annual Emergency Care Conference held in Atlantic City. Their poster focused on improving geriatric safety and reducing falls in the emergency department, a project at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton that resulted in a reduction of falls across all patient populations, not just geriatric patients. Jennifer also led a very successful podium presentation for more than 100 participants on the Emergency Severity Index, a five-level, standardized triage algorithm used by emergency departments.

BIG SHOUT OUT!📣Lisa Nevius, MSN, RN, OCN, NEA-BC, Administrative Director of Patient Care, and Katlyn Laba, BSN, RN, Med Surg-BC, Director of Patient Care, LFT 1 & 2, presented at the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) conference held at New York University on the "Early Mobility Enhancement Program for Elders and the Inpatient Community” at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton👏👍They were able to illustrate that the program had a positive impact on fall prevention, nurse communications and patients discharged to rehab. The presentation was well received and had great response at the conference!

Yesterday, on National Doctors' Day, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton, were proud to celebrate an extraordinary honor within our community.

Out of 510 dedicated physicians on Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton's medical staff, one remarkable individual was named Physician of the Year, a distinction that reflects not only clinical excellence, but compassion, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to patients and families.

Join us in congratulating our 2026 Physician of the Year, Zahid Baig, MD, Gastroenterologist, Medical Staff Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at RWJUH Hamilton, an RWJBarnabas Health facility.
