In celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we’d like to introduce you to Holly Stewart. Holly has been a part of the Allies family for three months and is a participant in Allies’ Supported Employment Program.

Holly’s cheerful and friendly nature is appreciated by everyone who works with her. She’s a very caring, respectful and helpful individual, and puts a great deal of effort into everything that she does and loves learning new things.

During her short time in our Supported Employment Program, we’ve seen extraordinary growth in Holly. She is currently working with her job coach, Sal Diaz, on employment-related activities, including sending out job applications.

In her free time, Holly likes to draw and curl up with a good book. She also likes to help with cleaning at home. Her favorite thing is being around animals and she loves taking care of her family’s pets.

Holly’s goal for the year is to become an associate at PetSmart. This will allow her to combine her passion for animals with her desire to find a wonderful job in the community. We are sure that wherever she works, Holly will do an excellent job and her smile will brighten everyone’s work day! Keep up the fantastic work Holly!

Allies got into the Irish spirit for St. Patrick’s Day with various fun-filled activities! Individuals from group homes in South Jersey gathered for a special “St. Patty’s Glow Party” that would have made any leprechaun jealous! Festivities included a delicious cake, Shamrock shakes, karaoke, a DJ spinning awesome music, dancing, and plenty of laughter and great conversation. Our friends at Mercer Day Program and Project Grow made colorful cards with green clovers and assembled potpourri gifts to hand out to staff at our administrative office. As a thank you, office staff treated them to a breakfast of green pancakes. Everyone enjoyed the visit – it was a lucky and magical day for us all.
