A: None of them are!
Wait, what?! Did you think the answer was Teaser? Or single leg bridge? Or perhaps other poses you saw when you looked up Pilates on the socials? (Arabesque anyone?)
It's true. There is not a single "peak pose" in Pilates nor are there truly any "peak" activities. Not Climb a Tree, nor 100's, nor Pearl Diver, and definitely not "pistol squats".
It's not even our beloved Teaser which truly is a wonderful movement. (BTW - Teaser also happens to also have great lines, looks impressive, and photographs well which is why you see it so often.)
So, our correct answer is: ALL movements in Pilates are important!
In fact, at TerraLuna we think the "simple", foundational movements are especially important. Mastering these basic, beginner's movements are key to building strength, skill, safe and correct technique. These foundational movements build upon one another, creating quality movement patterns and allowing us to simultaneously build skills and strength in a thoughtfully considered manner.
Everything we do at TerraLuna has a reason.
Our teaching philosophy is built upon the Pilates Principals and it shows in the way we approach every class. From our teaching style to the specific order in which you'll learn new movements.
The way we teach Pilates in intentional. Rooted in classic theory and grounded in technique.
We look forward to sharing the with you soon.
