Governor Mike DeWine has announced the statewide expansion of Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS), a game-changing resource for youth mental health.

What is MRSS?
A free service for children and young adults (20 and under) in crisis. When a mental, emotional, or behavioral health emergency happens, a trained team will respond within 60 minutes to your home, school, or community to de-escalate and provide ongoing support.

Why it matters:
Available in all 88 counties
Access through Ohio’s 988 Su***de & Crisis Hotline
Up to 6 weeks of stabilization care
Helps keep kids at home and out of ERs

If your child is in crisis, call 988.

The latest communication from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is that the federal shutdown may cause a delay in SNAP benefits starting Saturday, November 1st. Many households may experience increased stress or food insecurity during this time, and it’s important that we continue to connect them with available community supports.

To assist, we are sharing several resource lists including Shared Harvest’s comprehensive list of countywide food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. Please share this resource with your clients, partners, and community networks to ensure families can access immediate support as needed.

Ohio WIC benefits are not impacted at this time and will be distributed as normal in the month of November.

Help Us Help Others: Become a Volunteer! Join us on Friday, November 6th from 8am-12pm for Budget Bootcamp at The Heidt Center of Excellence. Budget Bootcamp is a simulated "Game of Life" style event where students experience making financial decisions based on different educational backgrounds, family sizes, and salaries. We need volunteers to facilitate the pre-made activities at each station. It's a fun and interactive way to give back to our youth and help them learn important life skills. Many of our Butler County neighbors are feeling the impact of SNAP benefit cuts and the ongoing government shutdown — wondering how they’ll put food on the table. This November, Serve City is opening our food pantry every Thursday to help meet that growing need. If you’re in need, we’re here for you. Together, we can make sure every family in our community is fed and cared for. 💙

Coming Together for a Safer Butler County 🤝

This week, EmPath for Autism had the honor of joining the Butler County Crisis Intervention Committee - where local law enforcement, behavioral health agencies, and community partners came together with one united purpose: to make our community safer and more connected.

In attendance were representatives from:
• Butler County Sheriff's Office
• Butler Behavioral Health Services
• Community Health Alliance - Sojourner Recovery - Transitional Living TLC
• Access Counseling Services
• Fairfield Township Police Department
• City of Monroe Police Department
• City of Oxford, Ohio - Division of Police
• Butler County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Services Board
• State of Ohio Adult Parole Authority
• NAMI of Butler County

Board President Leslie Williams and Board Treasurer Charlie Watson proudly shared our mission, the impact of our JagTag safety program for children with autism who wander, and our upcoming Bingo B!Z!NGO fundraiser at Lori's Roadhouse.

Meetings like this remind us that real safety happens when every voice has a seat at the table. We’re deeply grateful to collaborate with such dedicated professionals who care about the well-being of every family in Butler County.

💙 Together, we’re building a safer, more compassionate community - one partnership at a time.

This past weekend Best Point and Butler Behavioral Health Services walked in support of the NAMI Walks Butler County. A powerful event that raises awareness and celebrates recovery, hope, and community.

We’re proud to stand side by side in support of mental health, and grateful for the opportunity to walk with so many passionate advocates. Together, we’re building stronger, healthier communities.
