Community Health Alliance - Sojourner Recovery - Transitional Living TLC

Community Health Alliance - Sojourner Recovery - Transitional Living TLC Our programs include:

Sojourner Recovery Services, an agency of Community Health Alliance, is a full spectrum substance use treatment center.

Community Health Alliance, through Sojourner Recovery Services and Transitional Living-TLC, utilizes individualized treatment programs for general mental health and overcoming the disease of addiction. We have 7 residential facilities spread over Butler, Warren, and Preble County as well as 2 outpatient centers and our medical clinic located in Hamilton Ohio. We specialize in substance use treatment for adult men, adult women, and pregnant or post-partum mothers. When you are referred to Sojourner Recovery for services, you can expect to receive an assessment on your first day either by telehealth or face to face by a certified addiction counselor to determine the appropriate level of care. We offer withdrawal management, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and non-intensive outpatient. Childcare is offered during group time at several of our facilities, and we accept mothers with children under 12 at 2 of our residential locations. Medication Assisted Treatment
Sojourner offers the opportunity to be assessed by a physician for medication assisted treatment. The medications relieve withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and bring about a biochemical balance in the body. We also can treat minor physical health conditions and work closely with several local primary care providers. Perinatal
Sojourner operates a prevention program focused on women of child-bearing age. We utilize a holistic approach to provide services to drug dependent and high risk pregnant and post-partum women before, during, after, or in lieu of treatment in a variety of settings. We strive to help women achieve abstinence and maintain sobriety throughout the last trimester of their pregnancy, thereby delivering a “drug free baby” and improving the quality of life for both mother and infant. Recovery Housing
Sojourner operates several Recovery Houses in Hamilton, Ohio. We have 3 houses for single men, 1 house for single women, and 1 house for pregnant women with children under 2. We offer sober support, peer support, and a client driven length of stay for everyone who chooses to reside in one of our recovery residences. Discharge Recovery Planning
Sojourner’s discharge planning services start at the point of admission and are an integral part of our recovery programs. We strive to provide clients with the skills and tools necessary to successfully transition once treatment is completed. Focus is placed on developing a recovery action plan which includes, among other things, sober support, housing, medical needs, employment, parenting and education.

Today, December 12, is officially Gingerbread House Day 🍪

So we had a little fun and we put AI to the best use possible and re-imagine our Middletown clinic as a gingerbread masterpiece. From candy roofs to frosting details, each version puts a sweet spin on a place built around health, support, and new beginnings.

Which one’s your favorite? We’ll save you a seat at the decorating table 😉

Online sports betting is back in the news and not in a good way!

The Ohio Capital Journal recently highlighted something our clinicians see all the time: gambling can affect the brain the same way drugs or alcohol do. That means it can impact someone’s finances, relationships, health, and day-to-day life.

This is where we come in as WE TREAT gambling addiction as well as the challenges that often come with it — like depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, or family stress. Our care is supportive, evidence-based, and focused on the whole person.

Addiction doesn’t always look the same, and it isn’t about shame. It’s about understanding what someone is going through and offering the right support at the right moment. That’s what we’re here for!

The holidays can bring pressure to feel or act a certain way, but real compassion means allowing yourself the space to be human. It’s normal to experience stress, grief, mixed emotions, or moments of overwhelm this time of year. Giving yourself room to feel, to rest, and to ask for support is not weakness—it’s care.

For those in recovery, this season can add extra strain. Small steps matter. Reaching out, setting boundaries, and staying connected to support can make a meaningful difference. Healing doesn’t follow a holiday schedule, and you don’t have to either. Compassion over expectation means honoring where you are today and trusting that every moment of gentleness moves you forward.

It is now December, the season of giving. With that, December 2nd is Giving Tuesday — a global day of generosity that encourages people everywhere to do good.

At Community Health Alliance, we give back every day by supporting our community one person at a time, offering care, compassion, and connection when it’s needed most.

We hope our commitment inspires others to give in whatever way is possible—whether through kindness, time, resources, or simply lifting someone up. Together, we can make our communities and in turn world a better place.

Today we celebrate National Women Support Women Day—a moment to honor the strength of women and the impact we make when we lift each other up. This day reminds us to reach out, show up, and let the women in our lives know we’re here for them, especially when it matters most.

At Community Health Alliance, our MAMAs Program puts this commitment into action by supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, early parenting, and access to onsite childcare. From medication-assisted treatment to mental health care and family-centered services, we stand with mothers who need a trusted place to turn.

Women supporting women isn’t just a phrase—it’s a movement. And today is the perfect time to celebrate it. 💛
