Community Health Alliance - Sojourner Recovery - Transitional Living TLC

Community Health Alliance - Sojourner Recovery - Transitional Living TLC Our programs include:

Sojourner Recovery Services, an agency of Community Health Alliance, is a full spectrum substance use treatment center.

Community Health Alliance, through Sojourner Recovery Services and Transitional Living-TLC, utilizes individualized treatment programs for general mental health and overcoming the disease of addiction. We have 7 residential facilities spread over Butler, Warren, and Preble County as well as 2 outpatient centers and our medical clinic located in Hamilton Ohio. We specialize in substance use treatment for adult men, adult women, and pregnant or post-partum mothers. When you are referred to Sojourner Recovery for services, you can expect to receive an assessment on your first day either by telehealth or face to face by a certified addiction counselor to determine the appropriate level of care. We offer withdrawal management, residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and non-intensive outpatient. Childcare is offered during group time at several of our facilities, and we accept mothers with children under 12 at 2 of our residential locations. Medication Assisted Treatment
Sojourner offers the opportunity to be assessed by a physician for medication assisted treatment. The medications relieve withdrawal symptoms, reduce cravings, and bring about a biochemical balance in the body. We also can treat minor physical health conditions and work closely with several local primary care providers. Perinatal
Sojourner operates a prevention program focused on women of child-bearing age. We utilize a holistic approach to provide services to drug dependent and high risk pregnant and post-partum women before, during, after, or in lieu of treatment in a variety of settings. We strive to help women achieve abstinence and maintain sobriety throughout the last trimester of their pregnancy, thereby delivering a “drug free baby” and improving the quality of life for both mother and infant. Recovery Housing
Sojourner operates several Recovery Houses in Hamilton, Ohio. We have 3 houses for single men, 1 house for single women, and 1 house for pregnant women with children under 2. We offer sober support, peer support, and a client driven length of stay for everyone who chooses to reside in one of our recovery residences. Discharge Recovery Planning
Sojourner’s discharge planning services start at the point of admission and are an integral part of our recovery programs. We strive to provide clients with the skills and tools necessary to successfully transition once treatment is completed. Focus is placed on developing a recovery action plan which includes, among other things, sober support, housing, medical needs, employment, parenting and education.

Progress is a single step - any step.

In a world of instant gratification, it's hard for us to think of goals that aren't immediate. Life doesn't work that way, though!

Whatever your goal is - from financial to recovery health - you may not see the prize right in front of you; but with every small step forward, it truly IS closer. Just keep moving - you'll reach it!

The big secret of a happy life and a healthy mind is…

There is no big secret…

Just like how watering a plant regularly can help it flourish and grow 🌱, seemingly tiny things can make a huge difference in our mental health and well-being if done consistently. Here are seven seemingly little things that can have a big impact on how we feel:
1️⃣ Focusing on what you can control & influence: By concentrating on our actions and reactions, we reduce feelings of helplessness and stress. This promotes a sense of empowerment and reduces anxiety. Remember, we can't control everything, but we can control our reactions and choices. 🎛️
2️⃣ Practicing gratitude: Counting our blessings instead of our problems can shift our perspective and boost happiness. 🙏
3️⃣ Minding your self-talk: Self-talk determines if we get along with ourselves or not. Positive self-talk makes us more resilient and helps us bounce back from setbacks 💬
4️⃣ Surrounding yourself with positive people: Our social circle influences our mood and outlook on life. Choose wisely! 👥
5️⃣ Practicing mindfulness: What you choose to be mindful of determines how you feel about your reality and your future outlooks! Remember, that our minds often want to focus on the negative (to help us defend ourselves), but you can CHOOSE to direct your focus on the more positive 🌱
6️⃣ Valuing progress over perfection: Embracing imperfections and celebrating growth helps to reduce the pressure we put on ourselves. This can decrease anxiety, stress, and feelings of inadequacy, fostering a healthier mindset (and less anxiety means you actually get things done!) 🎉
Remember there’s no big secret to a happy life and a healthier mind. It's the small things that are done consistently that lead to the biggest transformations. 💫 What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments! 🗨️

Depression can take on many forms... and no forms at all.

But it's certain that if left un-treated - it can manifest into something irreversible.

03/18/2026

You are not your thoughts, you are the one who observes them. You are not your feelings, you're the one who experiences them. You are not defined by your past, you are defined by who you choose to be in the present and future. You are not limited by your current circumstances, you have the power to create a new reality for yourself.

Realizing this can help you liberate yourself from negative thoughts and open up to new possibilities! 🌈

A study published in the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience found that mindfulness meditation, which involves non-judgmental observation of one's thoughts and feelings, can lead to increased activity in the brain regions associated with attention, self-awareness, and emotion regulation. 🧠 This suggests that recognizing ourselves as separate from our thoughts and feelings can have a positive impact on our mental health.
So, how can you start to observe your thoughts and feelings without identifying with them?

1️⃣ Practice mindfulness meditation 🧘‍♀️ • Find a quiet space and focus on your breath • When thoughts or feelings arise, acknowledge them without judgment and let them go

2️⃣ Develop self-awareness 🕵️‍♂️ • Check in with yourself regularly and notice the thoughts and emotions you're experiencing • Remember that your thoughts and feelings are temporary and don't define you

3️⃣ Use positive self-talk 🗣️ • Replace negative thoughts with more empowering ones • Remind yourself that you are in control of how you respond to your thoughts and feelings

By taking these steps, you can free yourself from the grip of negative thoughts and emotions and open up to new opportunities and experiences in your life. 🚀

What do you think? 💭 Have you ever tried observing your thoughts and feelings without identifying with them? Has it helped you in any way? Your insights are valuable and can inspire others. Leave your thoughts in the comments!💬👇
