I feel like so many people never give themselves the chance they truly deserve. Addiction is not who you are it’s a disease, not a moral failing. But somewhere along the way, people start believing that their struggle defines their worth. It doesn’t. When I look at someone in addiction, I don’t see shame or failure, I see a human being with a story, a heart, and so much potential. If you just spend a few minutes with someone in that pain, past the hurt in their eyes you can still see them. And if they could see themselves the way we see them, they would understand how capable they really are.
Every person I’ve ever met in addiction has been smart, resilient, resourceful, and full of untapped strength. And you are no different. You are worth it. You deserve help. You deserve healing. And you can have the same success you’ve seen in others, one day at a time, one step at a time. You don’t have to do it all at once. You just have to start. You are worthy of a life beyond this.
