Our last batch of accessible play packages before the holidays went out on Saturday. But our work doesn’t stop here! We plan to reopen our applications (with some improvements) come January. Stay tuned for an end-of-year update on how many kids we were able to serve in 2025. Spoiler alert: it’s way more than last year!

It’s a great day to make the holidays accessible for kids with disabilities while we’re inside staying warm! 🎁

We’re down to 26 kids, teachers, and therapists on the waiting list. (We were at 57 just a few short weeks ago!)

Thanks to your support, we now have enough adaptive switches to meet the needs of everyone who is waiting. And we have enough toys to meet roughly half of those needs. We are, however, very low on funds for shipping!

There are only 10 days left until Christmas. And we’d like to put an accessible toy under as many trees as possible. Help us clear our wait list so we can reopen our applications and start the New Year with a clean slate:

Thank you Emily for your donation from our Amazon wishlist. The sensory light station is a hot commodity around here! And the Pokemon toy responds to both movement and noise, making it accessible to a lot of our kids, even without adapting!

Thank you to Carter’s Crew for the toy donation! We have several Ms. Rachel & Bluey fans who will be excited to receive an adapted toy from their favorite shows. We use the suction cup spinners to send out to kids who have wheelchair, stander, or activity chair trays.

We have paused our intake process (for the first time ever!) in order to focus on the 57 children, teachers, and therapists who are currently awaiting an adaptive toy. Stay tuned for information on how you can become an Angel for Accessibility and help sponsor an applicant to make their holidays more accessible!

We’re in search of the perfect recipient for this pedal operated adaptive switch. If you have a disabled child in your life that uses their feet, legs, or other body parts to gain access and could benefit from an adaptive switch, please send us a message or comment below. (This switch requires greater exertion of force than the standard adaptive switches we typically send out).

You can now register your Kroger Community Rewards to benefit Kairo’s Kids! A percentage of all eligible sales made at Cincinnati area Kroger’s (covering parts of Ohio, Indiana, & Kentucky) will be donated to our organization, helping to provide free adaptive toys to disabled kids in need.

To register, log into your Kroger Plus account, go to rewards > community rewards > search for organization > search for Kairo’s Kids (or enter our organization # “SJ907”).
