Since its adoption in December 1999 the mission of the Ophelia Steen Family & Health Services Center is to provide vital care and services to residents in the City of Hammond, Indiana and surrounding neighborhoods.

Our purpose is to offer valuable services by providing information, resources, activities and programs to engage, educate and help support the needs of the community enriching our neighborhood and its residents.

The Ophelia Steen Family and Health Center is 501 (c) 3 non profit. All cash, in-kind and professional service donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

Women's History Month Spotlight. Congratulations to our own Sister Albertine Dent for being recognized by the School City of Hammond as a great woman in history. Sister Albertine was the first black woman to serve on the Hammond School Board in 1972. She held that position for 17 years. Even now, she continues to lead. We salute you!
