The first two sensory nights at Blackened Brew are scheduled! We are excited about the opportunity for community and support that this will bring so many of the families we serve!
As we approach our first Sensory Service Night—and work toward making it a permanent offering, we’ve been focused on educating ourselves and our staff to ensure this experience is truly welcoming and thoughtful.
We’ve partnered with here in Hammond, whose team has helped guide us in understanding best practices and identifying tools that create a calm, supportive environment. With their expertise, we’ve already purchased several sensory-friendly items to help make the evening comfortable for everyone.
If you or someone you know would like to donate items you feel could support this initiative, we would be grateful. Donations can be dropped off directly at our location. All items will be reviewed and implemented with guidance from Happy Hands to ensure they’re appropriate and effective.
We’re incredibly thankful for our community’s response, encouragement, and support as we take this step toward creating a more inclusive experience for all.
