Gift wrapping may look like holiday fun, but it’s packed with OT benefits and meaningful skill-building 🎄❤️

✂️ Occupational Therapy benefits: strengthening fine motor skills through cutting, taping, and folding; improving bilateral coordination as hands work together; and building visual–motor integration to line up edges, corners, and tape accurately. Wrapping also targets motor planning, sequencing, problem-solving, and attention as kids follow multi-step directions from start to finish.

Functional skills, creativity, and holiday joy—all wrapped up in one activity! 🎄🎁

We know that for so many of the families we serve going out to eat as a family is hard. We are honored to be able to come alongside the Blackened Brew team and help facilitate a night for families to connect, fellowship and to feel seen and loved!

What You Can Expect From Us

Our team is taking this night seriously and approaching it with compassion, patience, and intention. We are here to support you and your family,just as we always strive to do, while creating a welcoming, sensory-friendly environment where everyone can feel comfortable and understood.

To ensure we do this the right way, we’ve partnered with Happy Hands Therapy Services to provide specialized training for our staff. This training will help our team better understand individual needs and thoughtfully cater to each family throughout the evening.

The outpouring of support from our community has been overwhelming in the best way, humbling, joyful, and deeply meaningful. This experience has opened our eyes to a need that has quietly existed for far too many families, and we’re honored to be part of a positive step forward.

This night is about inclusion, understanding, and making sure everyone feels they belong. 💙 Stay tuned for dates and times as we progress through this.

✉️🎅 Writing a letter to Santa is more than just a holiday tradition—it’s a therapy win! 🎅✍️
This week in therapy patients will get to write the letter to Santa and send it off in our magical mailbox that delivers letters straight to the North Pole! ❤

🖍 Occupational Therapy: supports fine motor strength, proper grasp, handwriting skills, visual-motor integration, attention, and motor planning as children organize their thoughts and put them on paper. It also challenges endurance and executive functioning in a meaningful way.

🗣 Speech Therapy: encourages expressive language as children generate ideas, form sentences, expand vocabulary, and clearly communicate wants and needs. Talking through the letter before writing also supports narrative skills, auditory processing, and social communication.

Learning, communication, and holiday cheer all in one activity! 💌🎁
