PSL assists persons with disabilities and elderly individuals in need of care in their homes. How important is your Independence to you?

Is it important as your freedom, or maybe life itself? Parishes is here to assist you with cooking, light housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication reminders and transportation. We assist children stricken at birth with disabilities and elderly citizens who are simply fragile or in need. We at Parishes understand your need to work to support your family and you cannot always be there to assist your loved ones so we are here to help through our many services. Parishes Supportive Living Inc. prides itself on its procedures of contracting the right caregivers for the right recipients. We use a vigorous training plan along with the State of Louisiana core-training course to keep our direct service workers up to date and trained properly. also encourages the recipient or family members to choose their caregiver to ensure comfort and that extra dose of trust. PSL is a licensed/insured company and member of the Local Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. Do not place your loved one in a nursing facility for any reason. Parishes also accepts insurance and private pay to help clients in their own homes. Services Provided: Long-Term Care, Elderly and Disabled Adult, Children's Choice, Personal Care Services, Supervised Independent Living, EPDST, ROW.

We had a great time at the Ponchatoula Chamber of Commerce After Hours hosted by the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival! 🍓 It was a wonderful evening of networking and connecting with our community.

Always great seeing friends too, including this year’s Grand Marshal, Emily McKneely Matise! We’re excited for the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival April 10–12 and look forward to being in the parade on Saturday, April 11!

We had a great time attending the Jazz Brunch in support of the Hammond Rotary Club. Our company sponsored a table and we’re proud to have earned 2nd Place for Most Decorative Table!

Huge thank you to Clifford Walker for decorating our table and bringing everything together beautifully. It was a wonderful experience supporting a great cause, networking with local businesses, and giving back to the community.

Black History Month Spotlight: Our Founder & Owner

As Black History Month comes to a close, we want to take a moment to honor the woman behind Parishes Supportive Living, Inc.

Our founder and owner is a proud U.S. military veteran who made history as one of the first Black female pilots in her squadron out of Florida breaking barriers in a field where representation was rare and resilience was required. Her service reflects courage, discipline, and leadership that continues to shape everything we do today.

In 2001, she founded Parishes Supportive Living, Inc. with a mission rooted in compassion, dignity, and community care. What began as a vision has grown into a trusted organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families with respect and integrity.

Her journey is a testament to Black excellence, perseverance, and service both to our country and to our community. We are proud to be a veteran-owned, Black-owned business built on a foundation of leadership, strength, and heart.

As we close out Black History Month, we celebrate her legacy not just this month, but every day.
