Frances Shourds (nee Panarello) of Hammonton, NJ passed away on December 28, 2023 at the age of 83 years.

Predeceased by her parents Philip Panarello and Sarah (nee Capelli), brother John Panarello and brother Gaetan (Helen) Panarello. She leaves behind her beloved children Gayle (Michael) Pagano of Clermont, FL and Ronald (Christina) Shourds of Hammonton, NJ, sister Kathleen (Ray) Phelps of Southampton, NJ, sister-in-law Margie Panarello of Sweetwater, NJ and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom she loved dearly. She was a loving grandmother to Phillip (Shannon) Pagano of West Deptford, NJ and Sarah Pagano of Winter Garden, FL.

Frances was a licensed hairdresser and cosmetologist and the sole owner of Fran’s Hair and Care in Hammonton, NJ. She was active in Saint Anthony’s Church in Hammonton where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for the church. She often brought communion to the homebound of the community. Her warm and bright smile brought joy to anyone she interacted with in the community.

Frances loved animals and was an avid plant lover as well. She maintained a beautiful greenhouse filled with award winning orchids and many days could be found caring for her plants, feeding her chickens, wild songbirds along with a variety of pets including dogs, cats and a variety of parrots over the years.

She was an active member of the Orchid Society, Sisters of St. Lucy Philippini and the Sandpiper Club. She loved music and was especially fond of Elvis Presley. She absolutely loved Country Line Dancing, so much so that she went on a weekly basis. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing and celebration of life on Saturday January 13th, 10:00AM to 11:45AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton, NJ 08037. Her Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00PM. Interment, Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton. A reception will be held immediately following and we ask all to please join us in remembering and celebrating Frances. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Jersey Cancer Fund in Fran's name. SJCF provided financial support during her most recent battle with cancer.
