At the most basic level, everything is energy.
Emotions are energy in motion.
That is not a metaphor, it’s physiology.
When you feel something (fear, grief, anger, shame) your body responds. Your heart rate shifts, hormones release, and your nervous system activates.
That is emotion doing what it is designed to do. But what happens for so many people is they learned early on that certain feelings aren’t safe to express. That their anger was too much, their grief made other people uncomfortable, or that the right thing to do was suppress it and just keep going.
So the emotion, or the energy that has nowhere to go, didn’t disappear. It got stored.
Stored in the body... And in the nervous system… And into the tight chest, chronic exhaustion, and the low-grade anxiety that never goes away.
I spent 15+ years in the medical field watching this happen. I could see two people with the same diagnosis have very different outcomes.
What I noticed was the ones who stayed stuck were almost always carrying something unprocessed.
Energy work is how we go back in. To gently move what has been frozen and give the body permission to restore balance. Our bodies natural naturally know how to heal when given the right environment.
This is why I love energy work. This is why reiki works! This is why clients cry on the table without knowing why. And why he healing sometimes feels less like a breakthrough and more like a very deep exhale.
