🤔 So, what makes Delta Yoga different?

The studio is located on the Main Street strip of a quaint, small midwestern town, 46 miles west of Chicago.

We are family owned and operated, and do not resemble any popular franchises that are scattered around the suburbs.

The second floor location adds to the cozy atmosphere, helping members feel like they are tucked away from the busy street below.

The lobby and studio are decorated with artwork, all handmade or painted by the studio owner Katie, husband Adam, and middle daughter Lyla!

The ray of sunshine painting in the lobby (by Katie) symbolizes the way our community radiates positivity.

The check-in kiosk table was created by Adam, using an old trunk Katie & Adam found at the Kane County fair in 2005. It was their very first coffee table and housed baby toys for many years!

The barn door with blue acrylic inlay was hand crafted by Adam over 4th of July weekend 2023. We skipped all parties and fireworks and worked for hours to get it installed!

The serene mountain mural by Lyla adds a gentle reminder that life will continue to have its ups and downs… and it’s a beautiful thing.

The triangles around the studio mimic Delta Yoga’s logo, the Greek symbol for change.

With a large staff of instructors from various backgrounds, we are able to offer several class types, and members rave about the balance.

Upon entry and exit, visitors might catch a breathtaking sunrise or sunset, or stop and linger when the temperature is actually comfortable, even if the wind ushers in a manure scented surprise from nearby farms. 🙃

👯‍♀️ This week, I’ve witnessed so many sparks of friendship in the studio.

Sometimes, when women decide it’s time to try out a class, upon arrival, they discover that they already know someone! It could be that they have kids the same age and haven’t seen each other since the last baseball game in 2016. It could be that they see each other in the stands at basketball but haven’t really chatted before!

Most of the time, the shared experience of class creates an invisible bond, and each time we see one another, the bond grows.

In the lobby, we get to catch up on each other’s lives, vent about reality, or simply smile and move on with the day.

🔼 It’s magic. It’s dedication. It’s Delta Yoga!

💙 Tuesday night pop-ups are 75 minutes long, and feature a specific aspect of yoga. It’s a fun opportunity to try something new, and take class from an instructor whose classes aren’t included your typical routine!

⭐️ Monday, 2/2 through Sunday, 2/8

Everything is better with a buddy—and this week, your workouts come with a little extra fun.

Here’s how it works (spoiler: it’s VERY low-pressure):
✔️ Choose your own buddy
✔️ Write both your names on our big paper chart hanging in the studio (starting 2/2)
✔️ Check a box every time either of you attends a class
✔️ Bonus square if you happen to take the same class together 💫

You don’t have to coordinate schedules or show up together to play—just move, show up, and color your way toward a win.

😃 Midlife is one of the best times to get stronger.

But- what does “stronger” mean to you?

It’s not just about muscle tone.

It’s becoming more resilient against the stressors in life.

It’s developing more stamina.

It’s knowing how to align your body during everyday tasks like pushing a heavy shopping cart or tripping on the edge of the sidewalk.

It’s knowing how to get quiet, breathe deeply, and use yoga or mindfulness tools to get a better night of sleep.

It’s not always about pushing yourself harder. Most of Delta’s classes are low impact with a gentle instructor who provides modifications and challenges throughout the hour.

Did you go through a busy spell… and realize you’ve left out self care?

Do you have little ones at home, savoring every moment, sighing over all the little details that happen on a continuous rolling 24 hour tape?

It’s ok. We have all been there. Now is a fabulous time to get stronger.

1. Join a class!
2. Get pumped up by all the energy surrounding you.
3. Vary the style of classes throughout the week to keep your body guessing.
4. Take from a wide range of instructors for entertainment and helpful tips.
5. Keep it up for a month or so and take note of changes to your overall sense of wellbeing.
6. Chat with your classmates before and after class… it combats loneliness!
