**Update 10am 1/27: they have arrived with a plow! Plan is to open at 1pm. Please, if you are coming to visit us this afternoon, wear shoes with good tread and go slow. We will do our best to add additional salt if needed but please take extra care and time in the parking lot!

Unfortunately, this is the current situation of our parking lot at Hampstead Primary Care. We planned to reopen this morning for business as usual, but until we can get this cleared, it will not be safe for patients or staff. Yesterday, we reached out to the property management company asking them to expedite the clearance of the snow. At this time, the office is closed to in person appointments. We are hoping to reopen at 1 PM if they come this morning and get it cleared. We will update again later this morning. Staff and providers are monitoring the messages in the portal and voice mails remotely till then. We apologize for any inconvenience.

💙 The Health Benefits of a Hug 🤗
A simple hug can do more for your health than you might think! Celebrate National Hugging Day by giving someone a warm embrace!

✨ Hugs can help:

Reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels

Boost mood by increasing oxytocin (the “feel-good” hormone)

Support heart health by helping lower blood pressure

Strengthen emotional connections and reduce feelings of loneliness

Improve overall mental well-being

Whether it’s a hug from a loved one, a friend, or even a quick squeeze from someone who cares—those few seconds can make a real difference.
Today, take a moment to hug someone you trust. Your body and mind will thank you! 💙

Friendly reminder as the winter weather threats are looming…
Check your prescription bottles. Make sure you are not due to run out of medication on Sunday, Monday, or even Tuesday next week. Most pharmacies allow a 5 day grace period for refills. Let us know if we can help by sending in a refill!

Also, Reach out to us this week if you know you need a referral, form signed, have a question, or want to be seen for an urgent need! We try to make sure to open the office as long as the roads and parking lot are safe to travel, but if we get “the big one”, we just want you make sure our patients are prepared for their health at home ❤️

Check generators, refill batteries, gas and propane tanks, stock potable water, and/or fill the tub for flushing water just in case.

Lastly, touch base with elderly or disabled neighbors or family members. Do they have someone planned to assist with snow removal? Do they need help with some groceries or picking up meds before the storm?

If we are all prepared, hopefully the storm won’t come! 😂

🧀 Happy National Cheese Lovers Day! 🧀

Good news for cheese lovers—your favorite snack can be part of a healthy lifestyle!

🩺 Cheese can offer health benefits, including:

A good source of calcium to support strong bones and teeth

Protein to help keep you full and support muscle health

Important nutrients like vitamin B12 and phosphorus

Certain cheeses contain probiotics that support gut health

As with all things, moderation matters—especially for those watching sodium, fat, or cholesterol. Pair cheese with fruits, vegetables, or whole grains for a balanced snack.

Today is a great day to savor your favorite cheese… mindfully! 😄

🕊️ Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day 🕊️

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose vision of equality, compassion, and service continues to inspire us all.

In healthcare, we strive to reflect his values by:

Treating every patient with dignity and respect
Working toward health equity for all communities
Leading with kindness, understanding, and compassion

As Dr. King reminded us, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”

Today—and every day—we recommit to caring for our patients and our community with fairness, empathy, and respect.

🤍 Celebrating Cesarean Section Day 🤍

Today we recognize Cesarean Section Day and honor the many birth journeys that bring new life into the world. Cesarean births are an important and sometimes life-saving part of maternity care for both parents and babies.

We celebrate the strength of those who give birth by C-section and acknowledge the care teams who support safe deliveries and healthy recoveries. Every birth story matters.

🩸 National Blood Donor Month 🩸

This month, we recognize the incredible impact of blood donors in our rural communities. A single donation can help save lives—from emergency care to surgeries and chronic illness treatment.

If you’re able, consider donating blood and encouraging friends or family to do the same. It’s a simple act that makes a powerful difference.

We often have patients asking to get get labs to determine their blood type. Donating blood is a simple, easy, and free way to learn that information.

Thank you to all the donors who help keep our communities healthy and strong. ❤️
