The Medical Service Corps In-Service Procurement Program (MSC-IPP) Symposium was held in the NMCP auditorium March 17. The symposium brought together experts from across the Navy to speak about their specialties to Sailors E-5 through E-9 who were interested in commissioning through the program.

⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) has suspended the Trusted Traveler Program.
This change in policy means that anyone without current base access who wishes to enter the installation will now be required to have a valid visitor pass obtained from Pass and ID, accompanied by a sponsor.

The bridge between the parking garage and bldg. 2 has been reopened to pedestrian traffic. Please use caution whe transiting due to containers in the walkway, placed to catch any redisual water dripping from the ceiling.

Advisory: the bridge between the parking garage and bldg. 2 (by the Starbucks and pharmacy) is closed off until further notice. Please use the bridge leading to the food court in bldg. 3 to access the medical center from the parking garage.

• For Pharmacy services, the remote prescription activation system - Q-Anywhere are now online, and outpatient pickups are available.

• The Hampton Roads Appointment Line is working again.

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth clinics and outpatient services will be open during normal hours on 2 February, 2026. The Branch Health Clinics will follow the guidance of the installation that they are on.

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is closely watching the weather forecast for this weekend. It looks like the main snowfall will start Saturday Jan. 31around noon and end sometime on Sunday Feb 1. During the event driving conditions may be hazardous. If you have to come to the medical center, please use caution.

Considerations for Saturday and Sunday:
• NMCP Emergency Department will remain open 24/7
• Inpatient care will continue
• Outpatient Pharmacy will be open regular hours 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

NMCP Pharmacy Refill Line Downtime

You may experience busy signals when calling the military pharmacy prescription refill interactive voice response system – or prescription refill line – Feb. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m., as the system is updated.

Naval Medical Center Portsmouth pharmacy’s prescription refill line may be unavailable for about two hours. If you call the prescription refill line at this time, you will hear a busy signal. Please wait and call back to complete your refill later.
You may still use the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to refill to refill your prescriptions.

You can now use the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal to request refills for most prescriptions from your military pharmacy. This new feature, which began Feb. 29, 2024, applies to your existing medications that have remaining refills.
