📣 Collier Literacy is moving! (Same building, just downstairs!)

We’re excited to share that we’ll be opening in our new space on April 20th. We’ll keep seeing you in our current office until then.

We’re staying at the same address (1 Park Avenue), just moving downstairs to Unit 6-1. The biggest change? You’ll simply use a different entrance ( #6) to reach our office.

While it’s a small move, it’s still an exciting one for us! We’re looking forward to this new chapter and can’t wait to welcome you into the new space.

We might be in for a little bit of a slow down break for a while as our calendar is looking a little calmer. No holiday closures for the next two months (and HOPEFULLY we are done with snow day closures too)!! But we can't forget that March sometimes comes in like a lion, so if changes arise, this page will always be a great place to get the most up to date information from!

🗓April Break Reminder: Vacation week closures vary among states so we remain open for April Break. Your student's instructor might have a different vacation week or availability than your family, so make sure to coordinate with them directly to ensure your schedules align accordingly!

Collier Literacy & Learning provides individualized academic and language support for students from preschool through high school. Services are available at our Hampton, NH office or on-site. We meet with students Monday–Saturday, offering after-school appointments as well as daytime availability for younger students and homeschool families.

Our Services

Evaluations & Screenings
We offer both formal diagnostic evaluations for speech-language and learning disabilities, as well as informal screenings to help determine whether your child may benefit from further evaluation.

Early Literacy (Preschool)
1:1 play-based sessions designed for preschool students with emerging literacy skills, introducing essential early reading foundations.

Structured Literacy Instruction
1:1 structured literacy lessons taught by Orton-Gillingham–certified instructors. Additional academic tutoring is available for elementary through high school students, focusing on subject support and individualized study strategies.

Speech & Language Therapy
Licensed speech-language pathologists provide therapy targeting spoken language development and articulation.

Executive Function Coaching
Personalized support to help students build confidence and independence with schoolwork, daily responsibilities, and personal goals.

Happy World Read Aloud Day from all of us at Collier Literacy!!
From living rooms, classrooms, and everywhere in between: stories bring us together. Reading aloud is about connection, not perfection, and it matters long after a child can read on their own. Sometimes stories just sound better when they’re shared.

💬 Let’s celebrate National Thesaurus Day! Explore words big and small and discover new ways to say them! From ‘happy’ to ‘delighted,’ let’s make today a day for synonyms.

It might seem like a silly thing to celebrate, but a day that helps build love for language and vocabulary is something we can absolutely get behind! We love to look deeper into how words work and explore fun new ways to express ourselves! We are sharing some fun books to read, absorb or experience and family activities that can work today or any day!

🌟 Want to support your new reader? Start with decodable books!🌟
These books are intentionally designed with words that match the phonics skills kids learn first (think: cat, map, sip, hop). Beginning readers are learning that letters represent sounds that they can decode to unlock the meaning of words. Early decodable books patterns allow kids to practice sounding out words instead of guessing. The result? More confidence, stronger skills, and joyful “I can read this!” moments.

Some great first decodable book series are:
📖 Laugh-a-Lot Phonics: Short Vowels
📖 Bob Books Set 1: Beginning Readers
📖 Phonic Books Dandelion World Stages 1-7
📖 Nonfiction Phonics Readers Set 1

We’re back and we’re reflecting on the last year.

Appointments: 1,902, Students: 96, Collier Literacy Instructors: 5, Parent Consultations: 80, Assessments: 38

What the stats can never fully represent? Our appreciation for all the families who share their wonderful children with us. Our dedication to continue learning and improving our own skills. Our excitement when a new skill is unlocked for a child.

Here’s to another year of exciting development for our students and our program!!

Reminders:
❄ With different districts on different vacation schedules, your tutor’s availability during February break may not match your school calendar. Please reach out to your child’s tutor to confirm sessions during February vacation weeks.
❄ Our weather closures follow the Hampton School District decisions! If you are ever uncertain, our instagram will be updated on snow days!
