With offices conveniently located in Chesapeake, Hampton, Gloucester, Yorktown/Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Williamsburg Virginia, Genesis Counseling Center exists to provide professional counseling for healing and growth of the whole person. Genesis Counseling Center offers comprehensive counseling and psychological testing and assessment services in an outpatient and convenient online setting. For anyone side-eyeing Christmas like, “Oh… you again?" this is for you!

If the holidays feel heavy instead of magical, you’re not broken—you’re human. Family dynamics, grief, financial stress, loneliness, old memories dressed up as tinsel… it’s a lot. Even the most “joyful season” can poke tender places. You are not alone!

So here’s your gentle permission slip:
✨ You don’t have to be cheerful.
✨ You don’t have to attend every gathering.
✨ You don’t have to explain your boundaries.
✨ You do get to rest, opt out, cry, laugh, or feel absolutely nothing.

Take breaks. Lower expectations. Eat the cookies for survival, not tradition. And remember—this season passes, even if it crawls.
