I’m sharing for myself, as a reminder, but also for others who may need it. And as a reminder to myself to thank my own therapist for her steadfast presence, even when she irritates me because she’s usually right.

The world and the cost of being human can be just so heavy, which is why I repost this periodically. I have changed a few lines, as I suppose it is an evolving piece. May your spirits stay fierce and your hearts stay tender. ♥️

Thoughts on automated response? I know it seems like the way to go, but, as a hypervigilant person myself? I smell inauthenticity from miles away. Anyway, I just want to remind folks that part of the fun of being in a winter climate is getting outside, when you can, to do stuff like my friend, Erin inspires us to do. The weather the last few days has been ideal for constructing these. Would’ve built one myself if this season’s featured ague did not have me in its “grippe.” 😜🤧editting b/c the “story” went away. Hey, Beautiful People. Just a few more days of this last year of the first quarter of this century. What are some of the things you can look back at over the last 25 years and say, “WOW—I DID that!” Meanwhile, if you are looking for a gentle, calming daily practice to add to your routine, have you considered hand mudras? COMPLETELY FREE, they date back literally thousands of years, reclaiming a natural physical healing wisdom that we have often forgotten in our busy, high tech lives. Try starting with what I call my “Happy Llama” position (thumbs touching ring/middle fingers, with pinkies and index fingers pointing straight up). Then, curl index fingers down to the bases of your thumbs (leaving pinkies straight out), sit (or stand) comfortably, and just breathe for 10-15 minutes. Don’t have that long? Even taking just a few minutes away from what you were previously doing is beneficial. The official name of this mudra is called: Apana Vaya Mudra. What you put out will come back to you. Yes, in a moment of pique, it is so satisfying to engage in Schadenfreude. And, if this brings you joy, be also okay with receiving that, others’ Schadenfreude, when you are having a bad day. Give yourself the grace of catching your (probably trauma-induced) mean spirit as it is springing forth. And instead, consciously choose to focus on … something wonderful. Stock your basket with joy against the hard times.
