“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” - Mary Oliver
As someone who committed to themselves to live a big, beautiful life after my cancer diagnosis
I now realize I have done well to build my life in a way that supports just that.
In my 20’s it was all about my love for skydiving
So I got certified as a parachute rigger
My life and friendships largely revolved around being in and near the sport
Now, my lifestyle supports my life around health and fitness
But it isn’t about sacrificing what you love
It’s about removing the things that get in the way of my health
And bringing in what does
•Walking on a walking pad to watch tv or scroll
•Cleaning the kitchen each night so I’m not scrubbing dishes and countertops of dried food the next
•Planning out 3 days a week of smart workouts so I have more time
•Lighting candles and setting out cloth napkins at dinner so our meals together feel more intentional
•Replacing junk snacks with quality ones we actually want to eat
Over time, we can build habits and routines that support what we want
