The latter is what antifragility means to be

My body was once fragile
And like so many I could've let it be my excuse for letting my health decline.

Instead, it fuels my fire
And I won't be quiet about it

I won't sit idly by as fitfluencers and lazy magazine/news articles feeds us click bait headlines on how to lose weight fast or use the latest pill

The truth is you have to get strong if you want to live a full life till your last day

You have to get strong if you want to keep your waistline small as you get older

You have to get strong if you want to stay or get off of heart meds, diabetes medicine, statins, or cortisone injections

Ozempic won't work forever
Running and cardio alone won't do it
And that "just do this ONE exercise" is asinine

Had been smoking since he was 14 yo.
And regularly drank one or two Jim Beam and Cokes a day.

When his doctor wanted to put him on statins for his cholesterol he declined.

The doctor told him there was no way he could improve without meds.

6 months later he had a follow-up and his tests were phenomenal.

The doc asked him what he did and he just told him in his usual deadpan manner, “I started eating healthy and lifting weights.”

Several years later he was hitting a 435lb deadlift on his 67th birthday.

Muscle is the fountain of youth.

And he uses the same programming I use for my clients...because he was the one that introduced me to getting the greatest results with the least amount of work possible.

This story shares the year my siblings and I celebrated Thanksgiving on a different day to create space, reduce conflict, and prioritize what truly mattered: time with our father as his health declined.

It became one of our most cherished memories.

I've been underestimated my whole life
Maybe because I always reach beyond most people's comfort zone

Not gonna lie
I also have similar comfort zones
But after awhile they feel stifling
