Did you hear yesterday's episode?
In this solo episode I break down the incredibly important macronutrient that fuels everything from your metabolism and muscle to your mindset: protein.

Forget the fad diets, bogus skinny supplements, and confusing science talk—I'm keeping it real and practical, explaining why most people think they’re eating enough protein but aren’t even close.

"All I need to do is ____"
"If only I could ______"
"It's the holidays, I don't have time to take care of myself"
"I've tried everything, and nothing works for me"

If any of this sounds familiar, then you and I aren't much different.
And if I knew then what I know now I'd be even further ahead than where I am.

This is why I am saying this to you now. You don't have to spend another year spinning your tires, repeating these same thoughts over and over only to dive into another quick fix, latest diet trend, or group class like I did for years.

Over here, I'm shoving restrictive eating out the door. You don't need it and it works against you.
We're trading endless hours of cardio with 3 hours a week of strength training. That's how we lose body fat AND not look like a melted candle.
And I am not going to tell you you just have to want it bad enough, or that you just need more discipline.
Instead, we map out a game plan, together, that gets to the root of why you lose motivation. And build your life around that.

True Grit is where passion meets perseverance, and that looks damn sexy.
All. Year. Long.

This is where you comment GRIT to find out more about 1:1 or my group coaching and why fall is THE best time to start😉

Who doesn't like a short, yet impactful story to start their weekend?

Like last weekend's where I shared what it was like leading contentious rooms where my confidence in those spaces leans into my physical strength in the gym.

And then I sprinkle in the exciting things I'm planning for you, maybe a delicious recipe, or freebie offer. Or sometimes it's a cathartic release valve for something weighing on my heart. Either way, I make a point of sharing what I hope serves you in some capacity.

It's one of my favorite things to do for my business as it feels like I get to play.

Your summer body starts now.

This is my favorite time to start planning for aesthetic goals.

Why? Because this is when people stop getting in the way of their own progress...Instead, they pause...We stop being impatient and slowdown, which is exactly how I like to train people year-round.

More about this approach that'll serve you well going into the holiday season to guarantee a successful change by summer.

Ever imagined what it would be like to fly in a Super Hornet jet?
My latest guest on today's podcast could tell you all about it given his 3,200 hrs in the F-18.

Straight out of the Danger Zone (call Kenny Loggins!), we discuss what it really takes to earn your wings, lead under pressure, and stay grounded through war, marriage, and life after service.

In this episode of True Grit, I sit down with my husband — Doug “NeSTR” Morrow, Naval Academy graduate, F/A-18F Super Hornet Weapons System Officer, and Top Gun-trained instructor — for an unfiltered look at discipline, humility, and building a legacy that lasts beyond the uniform.

Day 5 of The Ember Effect - Embody the Phoenix

It's the final day, but at the beginning of the week you pictured an ember glowing at your center. Today, that ember has grown into a flame.

You’ve already begun the process of stepping into embodying the future you desire for yourself: small actions that turn into wins and changes to how you go about your day is just the beginning.

Going forward, imagine yourself as your future you. Think about how you spend your mornings, what you eat, how you see yourself energetically (poised? confident? well spoken?...).

Now, BE that person. This is the most potent piece of advice you can absorb after the work you've done this week. Because transformation takes initiative long before the change actually occurs.

Share on a post or in your stories: “I showed up for five days. I’m ready for what’s next.”

Key message: The ember has lit. Now we carry forward. This is not the end—it’s the ignition of something bigger.

Want to keep this going with me in Phoenix Rising, my new group program launching next week on 11.3.25? Comment RISE to check it out further.

Day 4 of The Ember Effect - Radiate

Think of 2 wins and 1 challenge you’ve faced so far this week.

It’s in the wins we begin stacking evidence for ourselves that we are capable of doing the things we set out to do. And this evidence stack is what you get to use to kick self-doubt to the curb.

In the challenges, which is a reframe from what we might normally consider setbacks or roadblocks, we can learn to find solutions to recurring problems to further build resiliency. There is always a way around or through the issue, you just need to take a look at the situation and think what you would tell yourself if you were the coach.

Share in IG story or post: “Win: … Challenge: … Next step: …” Tag True Grit so we can cheer you on.

Key message: Momentum isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, learning, adjusting, and building identity. You are someone who shows up.

Day 3 of The Ember Effect - Fuel the Fire

Let’s create a “trigger” that helps remind you to eat mindfully, to be present in the moment so you slow down and enjoy each bite...this often leads to overeating.

Our brains are wired to think of the past and future, rarely being in the present. Throwing in electronics and screens makes it even more difficult.

Find a trigger that reminds you to be present when you eat throughout the day such as lighting candles at dinner, arranging lunch in an appetizing way, or slicing up fruit to go with your breakfast. Whatever works for you is what's important here.

Share in a post of your stories: “Today I changed _______ up to be more present and practice mindfulness." And tag True Grit

Key message: Your environment + habits either support or sabotage consistency. When you orchestrate the surroundings, willpower gets less lonely.

They're short yet potent stories with a powerful lesson attached, such as this one from a visit to Salem, MA that left me moved and inspired.

Day 2 of The Ember Effect - Feed the Flame

Today is about making a micro-commitment to movement. Specifically, moving after you’ve eaten to push back on our normally sedentary lives

After eating (especially carbohydrates), our blood sugar tends to spike giving us more energy, but with no place to go it begins to hurt our metabolic health, leading to major health issues later such as cardiovascular disease or neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimers, as some studies suggest.

The answer is to move: walk, do air squats, get some cleaning done...whatever gets you moving.

Share a photo or IG story of your mini movement (could be your mat, your shoes, you post-exercise) and reflect in caption: “I did this for me to …”

Key message: Small movement done consistently beats occasional big work. You’re building the habit scaffold.

Stories that exemplifie true grit is something I've been chomping at the bit to release or into the world for a couple years now... and here it is!

🎙True Grit Podcast will be a home to such stories, their lessons, and a whole lot of wisdom on health, wellness, fitness, and true resilience.

It won't just be my own stories, but of those beautiful souls in my world as I bring in guests to interview from all walks of life.

Here is the first episode, it's short and imperfect, and I couldn't be happier.

I can already say that since recording this first episode I've been learning to be more dynamic and convicted in my messaging. Let's see if you can pick up on the evolution, and see what doing the thing before you're fully ready can be the greatest teacher of all.

Day 1 of The Ember Effect is here! *More info in the stories*

But first, read the 2nd slide and then define your 'why':

-Write and finish this sentence: “I’m making a small shift in my health because …”

-Write what showing up even just 5-10 minutes daily would mean for you (energy, confidence, clarity, ripple effect).

-Choose one micro-commitment (e.g., “Every day this week I’ll spend 10 minutes on X before checking my phone”, or “I’ll drink one extra glass of water + do 10 body-weight squats”).

-Share in a post or your stories that commitment and tag me to keep you accountable and so we can celebrate you.

Key message: We’re training the body that motivation built, not the one willpower abandoned. Your ‘why’ fuels the ember; the micro-commitment fans the flame.
