❤️ Breakthrough heart care is now closer to home!

Blessing Hospital has successfully performed its first life‑saving, minimally invasive heart valve repair known as TEER (Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair). The procedure previously required lengthy travel to receive. Now, patients can receive this care right here in our community.

“TEER can make a huge difference for patients who aren’t candidates for open-heart surgery,” says cardiologist Dr. Jeffrey Cook. "It is very minimally invasive, even less invasive than some of the other valve procedures we do."

Courage, Connection, Conversation: Uniting Women in Hope🎀✨💗

Blessing Breast Center is holding its monthly support group on Wednesday, February 11, beginning at 6pm at the Blessing Resource Center. The event is free for all current breast cancer fighters as well as survivors!

February's topic is “The Effects of a Cancer Diagnosis on Relationships", presented by Malinda Vogel, LCPC at Midwest Counseling Services. Dinner will be provided. This event is free for current patients and survivors. Spouses and/or partners are also welcome.

🥼 When answers are hard to find, compassionate care can change everything

Sharon Brocksmith knew her 86‑year‑old mom, Sally, better than anyone. And she knew something was seriously wrong with her mother's health. Despite two ER visits, she was told it was “just a cold.”

But Sally wasn’t getting better. So, Sharon turned to Blessing Health Hannibal’s Dr. Alex Coffey and Dr. Humam Farah. Their compassion, teamwork, and determination uncovered a life‑threatening issue that had been missed.

🫶 Our hospice volunteers serve as a light for patients nearing the end of their journey, providing compassion, company, and camaraderie to create a positive environment and experience. Hospice volunteer opportunities include:

💙 Visiting with patients: Providing socialization for patients who are often homebound
💙 Caregiver Respite Care
💙 B.E.S.T Services: Providing a compassionate presence for hospice patients without nearby support
💙 Administrative Support: Provides office support by assisting in answering doors, phones, mailings, making admission packets, and other duties that support our staff team.
💙 Tuck-in Caller: This volunteer calls our families each week and “tucks in” our families for the weekend to ensure they have all the supplies and support needed for the weekend.
💙 Memory Bear/Pillow Maker
💙 Special Events Volunteer
