It’s been really meaningful during our American History programs this month being able to learn more about holiday traditions, in particular the White House Christmas Ornament Collection!

The White House Christmas Ornament collection, managed by the White House Historical Association (WHHA), features an annual, collectible ornament honoring a specific President, White House anniversary, or American tradition, known for being handcrafted from brass with 24-karat gold, and sold to support White House preservation. Since 1981, a new ornament has been released each year, covering decades of American history. Each ornament comes in a gift box with an educational booklet detailing its historical significance, celebrating themes like State Dinners (2025) or past presidencies, and is a popular way to connect with American history.

Not a one of us had “Snowball Fight with a Girlscout” on our BINGO card for this year…but here we are 😂

During the most precious, and mind you, unsuspecting rendition of “Let it Snow”, these sweet little ladies began tossing “snowballs” into the audience during the chorus.

They brought us so much joy and laughter 😆

The Hingham Shipyard was calling us again, and we happily answered the call 📞

Our luncheon at Alma Nove was molto bene 😋 We learned the name of an entirely new-to-us type of pasta (Tortellacci) and enjoyed a deliciously creative spin on Chicken Marsala made with said tasty pasta!

And the exquisite desserts left us all happy, full, and ready for an afternoon siesta 😴

10/10 Would Recommend 🤩
