🤧 Why Massage Is Contraindicated When You’re Sick 🤧

As much as we love helping you feel better, massage is not recommended when you’re ill — and here’s why:

🔹 Massage stimulates the lymphatic and circulatory systems, which can spread infection throughout the body faster.
🔹 Your body is already working overtime to fight off the illness — massage can place additional stress on your immune system.
🔹 Fever, inflammation, and body aches can be intensified with hands-on work.
🔹 It also puts your therapist and other clients at risk of getting sick.

💡 The best thing you can do?
Rest, hydrate, and allow your body the time it needs to heal.

Once you’re feeling better, massage can be incredibly beneficial to help reduce lingering tension and support recovery.

Just had a cupping session and wanted to share a quick aftercare reminder because it really does make a difference in how you feel afterward 👇
💧 Hydrate — Drink plenty of water to help flush toxins and support lymphatic drainage.
🛌 Rest — Take it easy for the day and avoid intense workouts for 24 hours.
🚿 Warm showers only — Wait several hours before bathing and skip hot tubs/saunas.
🧴 Protect your skin — Keep areas clean, dry, and avoid tight clothing.
🍎 Nourish your body — Light, healthy meals help recovery.
🚫 Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours.
Those circular marks are normal and part of the healing process — they usually fade within a week or so.
If you’ve never tried cupping, the relief for muscle tension and circulation can be amazing 🙌
Always listen to your body and follow your practitioner’s aftercare instructions.
